“Roomy and Comfortable”
My husband and I stayed at this hotel with our 2 children. It's conveniently located near Mission Valley. Very quiet and very spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well. There were enough choices for everyone. We loved that the space and the location made it very family-friendly. Definitely a place we will stay in again and again.

“Good Location To San Diego Attractions”
Staff was friendly, courtious, and helpful. Even allowing us to use the spa after closing time due to our late arrival. Off site pool was a few hotels down, but no more than a 10 min walk. Room was kept clean, and the house staff even folded the blankets in our baby bed. The hotel advertises a breakfast buffet, we found that though the selections were small, it did more than fill our needs as a family. A tip here, go early for best sellection of food items. Lastly the rooms all open up into a well manicured hillside with lush vegitation, a very good view first thing in the morning.
“Spacious rooms”
High-ceilinged large suites were wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast buffet as well.
“Great Place to stay in San Diego for the family!”
The Hawthorne was great! The room was awesome, the bathroom was spacious, the parking was free and ample, the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We didn't really like the the layout of the room they assigned us initially and they let us look at another room, which we liked and they swapped it immediately, even though they were very busy at the time, they did what they could to meet our needs.The free breakfast was a HOT breakfast with scrambled eggs, hash browns, waffles, toast (make yourself), bagels, sausage links and patties, a fruit melody, juices, milk, cereal, biscuits, coffee and some days there was gravy for the biscuits.
“Great except for a little room noise”
Hotel was great. Only complaints was noise that came from other guests above us. Very well equipped rooms and very comfortable. We would definitely come back. The breakfast was OK but nothing exceptional but it was free.
“Home away from home”
For the price of a customary, standard room at most hotels, we got an entire suite at Hawthorn plus free parking and a very tasty, free breakfast buffet. Great value! The desk attendants were knowledgable and friendly. We got a bedroom with t.v., a full bathroom with shower/tub combo and large vanity area, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, and all basic cooking utensils, and a "living room" with a sofa, chair and t.v. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a lot of space in a convenient area of San Diego, Hotel Circle.
“Great place for the right price”
We stayed for 4 days and having a mini kitchen was exceedingly useful with a kid around. The rooms were sooooooooo spacious and well maintained. The only downside was they do not have any shuttle services to and from the hotel to main attractions/airport. That would have been a huge plus especially for people with kids and the elderly. Other than that, I would definitely go back again!!
“Very helpful staff, big suites, free breakfast”
The location, Hotel Circle is very convenient to everything. It's the best place to stay. I found the front desk staff extremely helpful and knew me by name. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the city. The suites are rather large and have nice 10 foot ceilings making it feel spacious. The only thing is that the rooms are set up backwards. You walk right into the sleeping area (however the bed was sooooo comfy I loved it) then there's a kitchen area and separate bathroom, then at the back is a big sitting room with hide a bed, table/chairs and a second tv. There's loads of room here. The free hot breakfast was pretty good although gets boring after having the same thing day after day. Great waffles though. And they have a basket of apples at the front desk every day too. I sat in the hot tub almost every night which was good but this hotel doesn't have a pool. You can go down the street to their sister hotel and use the pool there. I did that one night and it was very nice. I would stay here again because it surpassed my expectations in all areas and the staff really made my stay outstanding.
“Excellent location!”
I liked the convenient location - easy to get to Old Town and all major freeways. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
