I was given the utmost respect and given the best service possible when staying at the handlery. the staff of this establishment know that the customer is their main concern and they show that they know that without it being a part of their job!

“Very good experience”

Friendly and helpful staff at check-in. Room Service was excellent and our meal was wonderful. The overall appearance of the room was nice and clean. Everything in its place and comfortable. The walls seemed thin since we could hear the person in the next room even at a whisper, but it didn't make our stay unpleasant. Would definitely stay here again if in San Diego anytime soon.

“Would do it again”

This hotel is in a really nice location. Close to everything in San Diego County and San Diego Proper. LegoLand, Old Town, Gas Lamp District, Cruises, Sea World, Shopping and dining. Hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are nicely remodeled. Pool is clean and warm. Plenty of seating and towels. Shade and sun. Hotel also offers pool toys for the guests. There is plenty of parking very close to the hotel rooms. A nice complementary breakfast in the morning. Last year we didn't notice this at all, but this year there seemed to be a lot of insensitive guests. They would return late to the hotel and talk very loud in an unfamiliar language yelling at their children who were running up and down the hall between 12:00-2:00. Then one morning a guest next to us has his alarm set to go off at 6:30 and it went of every few minutes until after 7:00. Otherwise will will book another room for next years trip.

“great hotel”

Our family's stay at The Handerly Hotel was a true pleasure. The customer service provided was outstanding; from the pool staff to the front desk, all employees were pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is the closest thing to a compliant that we had. The food was a bit overpriced and nothing special. Could have done without the 12 dollar per night parking fee, but we did know ahead of time so at least it wasn't a big surprise.

“Great Hotel”

Postcards resturant in hotel ,excellent food. Ask for a room on upper story with a view of the pool. great location as a short drive to all the attractions. Mini fridge in room a great bonus.

“Pleasant and relaxing”

Everything about the hotel was pleasant and relaxing. The rooms were clean and other guests were quiet. The service at the hotel restaurant was slow, but otherwise, the experience was nice.

“Lovely Spot”

We got a great deal on the Handlery and really enjoyed our stay! We loved the people who worked here and the room a lot. I definitely recommend this place! The Fashion Valley Mall (great shopping!) and a bus and trolley station were .6 miles away. Not bad, but bring your walking shoes if you plan to use it. There was also an Enterprise rental car station inside the hotel, and that was really convenient for the one day that we did rent a car. You will have to budget for transportation, because its a $20 taxi ride to just about everywhere although the public transportation can save you a little money and get you most places. The hotel did provide free transportation to the Zoo and Old town and we had a great time at both. The pool was beautiful, although always very busy. Our room wasn't brand new, but still very nice. I loved the tall ceilings and feel of the room. Very comfortable. The front lobby staff was really friendly and helpful. I feel like the Handlery was a great value - very affordable and still nice. Highly recommend it!
