“Great Stay”
Everyone was so nice, great customer service. A front desk clerk scoured the hotel to find us a can opener, she really went above and beyond. The continental breakfast was great. The only complaint I have is no hot tub, but other than that I couldn't have asked for more :)
“great hotel, great downtown location”
We flew into San Diego and stayed at the hotel the night before a cruise. The hotel was convenient to the airport and cruise terminal and provided a free shuttle from the airport and to the cruise terminal. Little Italy and the downtown harbor area are both within walking distance. The hotel has a great complimentary breakfast and dreamy bedding and pillows. All this at a great price.
“Convenient and affordable”
This hotel is within walking distance of downtown and Little Italy. My room was in back of the hotel and the often mentioned trains did not bother me; I didn't really notice them. Hampton Inn breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful.
“Not the place for light sleepers”
I would recommend this hotel to others because it is right in the heart of San Diego. You are within walking distance of Little Italy, Seaport Village, The Gas Lamp District, and The Harbor. The hotel is very clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly. However, if you are a light sleeper this is NOT the place for you. The hotel is situated right in front of the train tracks. I was awakened both nights by the loud sounds. I don't know if the conductors are required to blow their horns all the way through town or they do it just to annoy people. So, sound sleepers, this is the place for you!
“Highly recommend!”
I was very happy with the hotel and experiences that we had while therel. It was clean and convenient. Part of the reason that I picked this hotel was because I knew my son would love the breakfast buffet. I was right! He got up early every day just to head down to breakfast. The buffet was good with an ample selection to pick from. The egg and meat items were only okay -- the scrambled eggs were dry and both would have been better if they were kept warmer. The fresh waffles made up for the eggs. We had no problems with parking but always got in early in the evening. I could tell the next morning that some people had to do creative things to find a spot but I had no problems. The pool was outdoors and too cold for even my son to get in. The workout facility was useful, We walked to the Midway and out to dinner. The trains did not keep us awake at all. I will definitely consider this hotel for our next trip to San Diego.
“Nice Downtown Hotel - Good Location”
The room was nice and location was good to little Italy and downtown area. The only drawback was the train tracks are behind the Hotel, so you hear the trains go by quite often.
“great location for comic-con close to the harbor”
staff very friendly, helpful, room comfortable; breakfast good
“San Diego's best kept secret!”
Excellent location! Super clean and the breakfast buffet was very good and plentiful!
“A very good choice - glad we stayed there!!!”
Great Hotel - awesome location!!! 2 blocks to cruise terminal. Stayed there 2 nights before cruise and were very happy. Friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast/ride to and from airport and to cruise terminal. Free internet. Shuttle to balboa park daily. Train noise is only problem but we only heard it during the day - ask for room at the front. We didn't find that too much of a problem. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others. Hop on Bus was about 1-1/2 blocks away. What else could you ask for.
“Great affordable option!”
The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus, hotel is within walking distance to Little Italy and in close proximity to many other conveniences. Clean and comfortable!
