“Oasis of Leisure”

Absolutely a pleasurable experience...beautiful, relaxing, enjoyable. Could not have asked for anything better. This wonderful, self-contained resort paradise provided all the luxury amenities without having to leave the property. There are several choices for dining and entertainment with numerous venues across the grounds for intimate sittings. Perfect for couples!

“Very nice hotel!”

This hotel is in a quiet area, just across the street from the university in La Jolla. It is very close to downtown San Diego/Sea Word/Zoo. The room was very nice with very comfortable beds, easy internet access, and very clean. The staff overall was excellent, with one exception with a receptionist late at night who obviously did not like his job. The breakfast buffet was very good, with excellent fresh fruit. A definite alternative to a large resort with hords of people. The outdoor pool and whirlpool were both very nice and heated. We HIGHLY recommend this place if you're staying in the San Diego area.

This is an excellent place to stay. Unsurpassed service, great bar, grounds, pool, etc.. Beyond comfortable room and bed.

“Elegant and Restful”

This new hotel right across the road from the UCSD campus is like an Old California ranch, with soothing decor, beautifully landscaped grounds, choice of upscale restaurant or cantina, and large rooms and bathrooms. The gravel road entry enhances the feeling of escape. Yet, the Learning Center facilities are state of the art. Use the outdoor pool and hot tub, or the variety of equipment in the exercise room at no charge, or just walk the grounds to enjoy all the gardens and plantings. Since you saved with Expedia, treat yourself from the large menu of massage and other spa services. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a hotel - if it weren't in beautiful San Diego, we might never have left the grounds!

“Southern Comfort!”

Fantastic location, beautiful grounds, great room. Very peaceful. Service was amazing - everyone was very friendly and helpful. They all seemed genuinely interested in our having a good time. The breakfast buffet was only average, but dinners, margaritas were the best! I would definitely return.

“Awesome Getaway!!!”

Estancia La Jolla was the best getaway ever! Sure, it's next to UCSD, but when you're there you feel as if you're a million miles away from everyone and everything; no worries, no rude people, etc. The Adobe restaurant is also awesome! The entire staff is extremely unpresumptuous and their goal is to meet your EVERY need.

“Beautiful yet pricey”

La Estancia is a great place to stay. They have beautiful gardens throughout the hotel and great rooms. They have a lot of extra fees that are not included in the price/night so beware. There was a daily "resort" fee, a full valet (i.e. you have to use the valet), and a parking fee.

“Charm of Old Mexico”

Over all I could have not asked for more - comfort, cleanliness, service & elegance were all there. Security was ever-present, making us feel safe, while in a un-familar location.

“Out of expectation!!!”

We knew nothing about this hotel before we booked... just some descriptions and photos on Expedia. But this hotel is so beautiful and luxury, it's totally out of our expectation.
