“empress”
Great staff, fine restaurant and breakfast facilities. Have stayed there more than once and will again. Wish tv had movies on demand. Other than that, no complaints.
“Empress La Jolla”
great location for walking around town
“Awesome place, fab location”
Nick the valet guy / concierge was awesome and gave us loads of information about where the best places to eat were etc... Felt they really knew their guests as they remembered us each time we came back to the hotel

We had really good experience here. Everything was good.
“Great choice”
My husband and I stayed at the Empress for three nights during out first trip to La Jolla. I spent a lot of time narrowing down my choice before booking and am very happy we went with the Empress. The hotel is perfectly located--right in the village, just a few blocks from the water and walking distance to many great shops and restaurants. The new breakfast room was very nice and the free breakfast was just enough for us (which made it easy to just get out and explore). Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and although we didn't end up really needing any significant service (had no problems and made our own itinerary) I got the impression that had we needed anything they would have been very helpful. I really liked the lay out of the room. There was enough space that we could spend the time we were in the room on the couch or at the table instead of having to sit on the bed. Also, the windows opened, which was a nice touch. I would certainly stay at this hotel again. I doubt there is a better value in La Jolla.
“Great hotel”
Very nice hotel, pleasant stuff, very good location. Next time in La Jolla, only this hotel...
“Would definitely stay here again”
I had an amazing time in La Jolla and the location of this hotel was key. I had the best runs of my life down by La Jolla Cove each morning and really enjoyed the continental breakfast afterward! The staff was friendly and they give you home baked cookies when you check in. :D
“great lajolla location”
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast had many healthy choices with great coffee. The location was perfect for walking to everything especially along the oceanfront. We lived in La Jolla years ago and it was like coming home again. A wonderful trip. The only drawback was that the pillows were cheap foam and not comfortable. Next time I'll bring my down pillow.
“will go back”
Nice,Clean,very friendly,location location
“quick trip to La Jolla”
I loved staying here and will do so in my next trip. walking distance to the water and everything in the village of La Jolla.
