“Great Stay at Charming Hotel”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location allowed me to walk everywhere. The staff made me feel very welcome. I will definitely return.
“Very Pleased”
Loved the hotel - great location - great value. Would definately stay again and would recommend to family and friends.
“What A Find!”
Charming, boutique hotel a block from the beach. If you want quaint, interesting accommodations, this is the place for you. There is a lovely courtyard complete with pool, restaurant (delicious food), and bar-b-que area where tile work, and fountains abound. If you are the hotel chain type, requiring new and modern, this is not the hotel for you.
“Sweet, quaint, charming . . . loved it!”
This hotel is a find. Sweet, charming, lovely courtyards and fountains. The Mexican food at Miguel's was fabulous. The office staff were helpful in locating other places to visit. The showers were unpredictable (temp) and the trash trucks came by too early for me. But we had a lovely time, and will go back for another visit.
“A Bit of Everything”
We were visiting friends in Coronado. We picked the El Cordova Hotel because of it's location and price. We were pleasntly supprised with the charm of the hotel. We had a small studio apartment complete with kitchen and breakfast nook. A nice feature of the hotel's location is there are 3 restaurants and several shops on the property as well as an open courtyard, pool and laundry.
“Wonderful”
All around everything was great. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
“not Hotel Del”
Clean, comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Just what I needed.
“Nice Old California Culture”
I scoured the previous Expedia reviews for El Cordova, so I knew we were not booking a brand new chain hotel. Upon registration, I was disappointed with the accommodations, however after a good night's sleep I realized I had picked a winner. Granted, parking is not directly on the premises, and there are no hair dryers nor hangers in the closet, but the ambiance makes up for thes minor aggravations. The location is great! It's within walking distance of many restaurants and shops and only one block from the beach. I believe each room is an entire suite - living room area, dining area, kitchen, bedroom, bath, and closet area - at least this was the layout of our room. Bedroom and living room each had flat screen tvs. The kitchen and bath had old-style California tiles which was beautiful. All in all, I'd book again in a heartbeat!
“A beautiful villa and a fantastic restaurant”
This property was aesthetically very pleasing, with all the rooms (as far as I know) overlooking the courtyard and pool, with hot tub. The rooms are done in traditional Spanish style, with thick tile on the walls in the bathroom. The rooms (we had a suite) were very clean and comfortable. The shower had exceptional water pressure (apparently low-flow shower heads are not required in southern California) and the flat-screen TVs were wonderful. It was very quiet, particularly between rooms, as the thick walls abated all noise. The front desk personnel were exceptionally helpful and pleasant during our 3-night stay. We ate breakfast at Fuddrucker's Bagels, just down the street and since the El Cordova gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at a few local restaurants, including Miguel's which is part of the hotel, we ate dinner there. It was very, very good, with very reasonable prices. I will definitely stay at the El Cordova the next time I am fortunate to coach an athlete who qualifies for the Footlocker Cross-Country national championship race.
“Very Nice!”
I really liked the hotel, there were a couple of things that were an issue like the motion sensors on some of the lights and only the bedroom had heat/AC (but after the first night I figured a way around those issues) other than that it was great! It is a very old building but is much nicer than many of the newer hotels I have stayed at and at a good price for the area!
