“Nice and affordable”
Good location, decent breakfast choices, and a clean room. We arrived late, and the staff was prompt with our check in and courteous. Parking was good and close to room. Nice area, and well lit.
“Surprisingly impressed”
With the word Econo in the name, I didn't expect to find such a lovely hotel. Very simple from the front, the rooms are beautifully decorated, immaculate, and well supplied with amenities. It was very warm, so the air conditioning was welcome. The little town of Encinitas is charming, with some lovely restaurants, and not at all spoiled or developed as some of the other SoCal beach towns are. The hotel is a short walk to the beach which is another plus. I'd definitely stay there again.
“Very nice place”
Very impressive all around for it's category: super clean and comfortable, quiet and spacious rooms. Nice, simple breakfast - loved the idea of cheese sticks and fruit, not just baked stuff. Would have loved to stay longer!
“ground floor would have been better”

“Plastic Mattress”
The room was clean, in a good location- only reason I would NOT stay there again is due to the thick, black plastic they cover the mattress with. If the mattress pad was thicker (and stayed on the bed) it may not be so noticeable. It made the bed uncomfortable & "crinkled" everytime you moved.
“Recommend with one caveat”
Breakfast was fine, location was great, but there was one big problem with our bed. We had a king and there was black visqueen masking taped to the mattress. I understand the need to protect the mattress, but it made for very noisy turning over. Also, the mattress pad was very skimpy and so kept falling off. Either skip the visqueen or have a mattress pad that fits and is padded to help mask the plastic!
“will probably stay again”
It was overall a good stay. I only had problems with the person at the front desk once, but it was easily resolved. They were nice the rest of the time, and the rooms were nice. Pretty good for the price.
“Small yet nice place to stay”
This hotel is small but don't let that fool you. The room we had was adequate for 3 people, and even a 4th would have still been comfortable. The rooms were clean. The rate we paid in May was excellent for being so near the beach and the amenities provided.
“Our young sons loved the area but not the room”
The hotel was very simple but it had everything we needed: microwave, fridge and complimentary breakfast. Our boys loved the surfliner train that passed by and we didn't mind since it seemed quiter than the local buses. The beach was about .20 miles away but you need to walk down 3 flights of stairs to access it. Moonlight beach had a great playground for them about 1 mile from the hotel. My only warning to parents is that the room's are small so the kids are immediately impatient and sidewalks are not available on several of the surrounding streets including HWY 101, which is where all the shops and restaurants are. Using a stroller, especially a double stroller can be impractical in some areas and some of the smaller restaurants.
“Great hotel Great spot!”
Great economy hotel in a beautiful spot! Staff were great, beds were comfortable the Area is beautiful.
