First we were given a room that stink to much cigarettes, the lady was nice and promt to switch room., but the blanket stinked like pee call reception but never answered, had to go out and ask for one,this new receptionist was kind of rude. The property loction had plenty of to eat and we felt safe to walk oround, there is a food4 lees right next. There was no hot water,supposedly due to a city problem. I told receptionist why wasn't I advised before I finished checking in.I ask for a credict and she play the part of it was not up to her.

Terrible area Building was rundown Very small room, no cups in the room. The office is locked and registration done thru the night window, couldnt hear the check in person and she was not personalble at all. I will not stay at this property ever again.

This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed at. First of all it’s NOT a hotel, it’s a run down motel that looks like it “could” be used for prostitution. My travel plans changed and I had to get an emergency room for one night. In hindsight, I would have been better sleeping in my rental car. There were holes in the sheets, brown stains on the towels and walls. Dirty floors, mini fridge and telephone had a layer of dirt, toilet wouldn’t flush and check-in was extremely RUDE!

Pictures were deceiving
I was surprised at how awful this hotel was considering it's price. I could tell that management was trying to make improvements but for $200 it wasn't even1 star. Tv broken. No hot water. AC rattled and leaked all night. My feet were filty after waking on the floor. I tripped on the uneven top stair going to my room. Its between a Home Depot, Food 4 Less, and a homeless tent camp. It looked like a charming, hidden gem from the listing but it definitely wasn't. Car alarms went off in the middle of the night and someone banged on my door. We left in a hurry the next morning. Glad i wasn't alone!

You get what you pay for so just keep that in mind. However the room exceeded my expectations from previous reviews I have seen. Checkin was smooth and when we got in the room, I was surprised to see it was modernized from the photos. It was clean inside and was a nice place to stay. The only thing I will say is the pillow quality is of that you get at the store and wash it where the cotton gets stuck together. Not the bests and the bed mattress itself was good a bit firm but I enjoy that but it did squeak quite a bit. But for a motel, I was more than happy with the stay. Also near a bunch of fast food, restaurants and stores so convenient location

The location was great for my traveling purposes. Neighborhood is sort of on the rough side of seedy. The photos on Expedia need updated- there are no lamps, coffee makers, alarm clock, etc. but those items are in the photos. Staff pleasant, new management. May I suggest somewhere on the property to offer a shady picnic table?

Smoke free room, smelled like it had been smoked in before. $160 is kind of high for the room. Surrounding area is ok. Parking is narrow, difficult for bigger trucks to park. Bed wasn't bad, mini fridge worked well. The TV had some damaged pixels. Ac worked well. Shower was nice, toilet didn't disappoint.

It is a unsafe area, but you don’t expect bad things happen INTO the premisses and worse: you expect the manager deal with them quickly, not hide in the office. On the first night one of the guests was “carry out” by the police and was very loudly (using all derogative terms possible, what doesn’t sound manager’s fault, but on the second night, two “ladies” decided to fight LOUDLY because one the car was blocking the passage of the other at the parking lot. Simple to solve if the “second lady” just drive around the “first lady’s car” (plenty of space), but after several minutes of even more derogative words against each other, and cars honks, the second lady decided to PUSH with her car the first lady’s car!!! Where was the manager? Me, a caucasian dude get into a fight between two African Americans “ladies”? Who is the minority again? To complete a four nights nightmare at this place, a constantly clogged toilet sit. And no, it was not my fault. Since the first night I was complaining about something wrong of the weak flushing but, with no rooms to exchange, I lay on the manager’s word when I come back at night it will be solved. BTW, I was in SD for business and when you pay almost the same range of 3 stars price, you expect get the same service, tight? No one told me I won’t be able and just leave. No refunds request accepted … of course if I had paid a “fee” to, it was “ok” but, who thinks to regret on the first night? EXPEDIA, you SUCK and steal my money as well.

When I checked in I was informed that the property didn’t have any running hot water at all and that they wouldn’t have the issue resolved until the next day in the morning after I checked out.

Room was clean and appeared to be recently refreshed. The lighting was great except in the dressing area. Why do motels always skimp on lighting in an area where we need the best lighting? Electrical outlets were almost nonexistent. The bed was not comfortable, although admittedly, that is a personal issue.

Broken and destroyed furniture. no privacy.
I’ve stayed here 15+ times and I have found that no matter which room I get (never the same one) there are a few things that baffle me. First off, no black-out curtains just blinds which do not block the sun nor do they give any privacy. Furthermore, one of the sides is warped and they would close all the way in the middle or the slats are misaligned from being treated poorly. This was a terrible investment. And, I have never once had a nightstand that had a working drawer. The front is missing, the bottom is missing or both. Very annoying that everything u want close to the bed has to sit on top or in an awkwardly large open space below. And, there is one waste basket for the whole room which is in the bathroom. There should be another at least under the desk or on the side of dresser facing the door. I find myself throwing trash on the floor because who wants to go into the bathroom to throw away trash. And I always forget to move it out when I’m unpacking. Lastly, every TV has a large crack right in the middle sometimes it’s missing a long strip of glass the cracked n fell out. So, the TV is not really a feature nor, are the shutters or the nightstand. This property may have gotten a facelift but the bones are brittle n breaking.

The room I stayed in was ok. The floor felt sticky and uncomfortable when I walked around. The most disappointing is there was bed bug and I got bitten multiple times. I have gotten infection for a couple days now and unable to go to work because my hand swollen and itchy so badly. When I booked the place I already checked for the reviews but somehow there is something missing about this place that gives it an above 4 stars rate.

Overall, my stay was okay. The actual location was a bit seedy, with some hidden jewels around a couple of corners The pictures are a bit deceiving, as it is located in between two major but convenient stores. The staff was okay, but the housekeeper was nice and just wanted to do her job, despite the request of no service, so I just had her empty my trash. Being a last minute decision, it was okay, but I would definitely not plan to go there for the cost. I would have rather pay more to be in Downtown San Diego.
