“Good clean hotel. Would stay there again.”
Good clean hotel. Would stay there again.
“Lights Out!”
The price was great, (special on Expedia). Apparently it is a "green hotel" which means that the lights and fan go out on you while in the shower. It is motion activated, and does not pick up on motion in the shower. The lights went out on me at least four times during one shower, which kind of seems dangerous. We were awakened one night around 2:00 a.m. by an extremely loud pre-football game party yelling out by the pool. Be aware, the proximaty to Qualcom Stadium lends this hotel to visiting fans and their partys. Doors were being slammed over and over. We called the front desk and asked them to do something, and after an hour of the yelling and slamming called again. It quieted down in another 15 minutes or so. We had also booked the room a few days later, the night before we flew out. This room had not been vaccuumed and the carpet was frayed about two inches out from the bathroom tile. The cabinet door next to the TV could not close completely since the door was warped and the light in the cabinet would not go out. Very disappointed in hotel. Crown Plaza has a great reputation, and this one did not live up to it.
“Stay for convention”
Nice hotel, but parking and food is a little pricey. Make sure you ask them to turn the het on if your going to need it, otherwise you can not control it from inside your room
“Disappointing”
For the first time I tried the 40% off, book the hotel, and then find out which hotel you have. It said I would get a 4 star and this hotel is barely a 3 star. Toilet stopped up. Towels are thin and thready. Bathroom floor freezing cold
“A Pleasant Surprise”
For the price, I would call this hotel an excellent deal. Although the actual building is older, the rooms have been recently updated and the whole facility, from the rooms to the public restrooms and lobby were very, very clean. I forgot to bring a razor and upon requesting one at the front desk and proceeding to my room, I was greeted by a hotel employee with a disposable razor waiting at my room door! The food in the restaurant's was also a very pleasant surprise. It was a bit pricy, but when it comes out quickly and tasting great, I'm more than happy to pay a premium. My only complaint was that I could never get an answer at the valet/bellman's stand. Every time we went to request a cab, either from our room, or at the bellman's desk, we couldn't get any help without waiting and repeated requests for help. Overall, I was very happy with the hotel, though.
“Satisfied”
This was a nice enough hotel. The gardens were very nice. The decor of the room could have been a little bit better but it was o.k.
“nice”
The worst part was the parking fee and the shuttle stopped running at 9 PM. Rooms were great.
“Awesome Experiance”
My family and I stayed for 4 days. Arrived after 11:00 pm from an all day flight and to my surprise they had a restaurant that was open for service. Next morning woke up late and missed the shuttle to Sea World no problem they made arrangements and shuttled us off to Sea World. That evening the shuttle took us to the store as well. Room service resonably priced and good. Staff friendly and oh so accomidating. Even though the hotel is right on the highway the rooms are extremly quiet. We loved our experiance. I would highly recommend The Crown Plaza for a great family hotel to stay in for a San Diego vaction
“Great place, good value.”
Really enjoyed the in hotel sushi bar. The hotel's location is great for getting around to all of the local attractions and not too far from the airport.
“Was a perfect fit for what we needed”
Our son plays football for University of San Diego, we came down to watch his game. We travel with our small dog, The hotel was clean, and the staff very friendly & efficient. They gave us a room near the specific "dog run area" complete with a little white fence. Very nice. They did charge $75.00 for our dog, but was a well maintained, convient and spacious room for a night. We will be back.
