We booked 2 night stays at the Courtyard by Marriott in the Gaslamp and at Solana Beach. We knew the Solana Beach location was wonderful because this was our third stay in three years! Great location, great staff and great accomodations. The big surprise was the Gaslamp location. Designed at the turn of the last century by the architect who did most of the beautiful buildings for the exposition held in Balboa Park-hotel staff is well versed on the history. Rooms in the 12 story building were originall offices and are large. Furnishings are top quality, bedding is heaven,wifi is free, and you are literally across the street from the Gaslamp. We will definately go back and I highly recommend both hotels.

I stayed at this hotel following a company dinner and the service was amazing. The room was clean and the overall feel of the hotel was welcoming and cool. I would recommend this hotel or anyone staying in DT San Diego as it was very reasonably priced, convenient to everything downtown, and overall a great place to stay.

“'Home, sweet home' in San Diego!”

The hotel was absolutely beautiful! As an architecture fan, I was impressed. It is conveniently located next to 5th Street, and is minutes away from Horton Plaza, St. Joseph's Cathedral, and the Convention Center. The trolley stop is right around the corner, and it actually took me 15 minutes to WALK to the convention center versus 20 minutes on the trolley! Everyone from the bell boys to the houskeepers to the girls at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

The rooms were very spacious and the ambiance of the hotel (a converted bank) kept the historic feel but made a nice hotel.

We chose this hotel, as we were going to a concert at the House of Blues, which we thought would be close by. Little did we know it was on the same block! The hotel staff was friendly, the hotel was beautiful and clean. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property, and I would definitely stay here again.
