“Very comfortable and all you need for a pleasant stay”

This is my second stay at this hotel and was another very nice stay. The hotel is in a very handy location to the convention centre, shopping and nice restaurants. The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming and I appreciated the phone call to my room shortly after arriving just to check that everything was ok with my room. The hotel has a nice homely feeling and you can just easily come and go as you please without any fuss. The free internet worked well and the hotel was happy to provide two access numbers so i could use my iphone and laptop. The back rooms of the hotel look out to a concrete block wall, so I would suggest asking for a street front room with a view. This view would be the only downfall of the hotel. Just up the street on First Ave towards the convention centre is a supermarket to pick up some snack food and nibbles. Don't forget to pick up the supermarkets discount card to get extra discounts. People have written that they felt unsafe in this neighbour hood but I have never had any problem and I don't think these comments are a fair reflection as their can be homeless anywhere in the city. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

“Awesome location and service as well very very clean.”

Hotel staff at check in were exceptional with providing suggestion for things to do as well places to eat. The Hotel was very clean and regular cleaning each day. Free wireless internet was a bonus. Hotel was downtown within walking distance to shopping, restrauants, tours, etc. Would stay at this hotel again when in the San Diego Area. For awesome tours with excellent prices check out sandiegotours we went on three tours with these guys all were above expectations. We did one tour to Hollywood where they picked us up at 7am at the hotel and return to hotel at 9pm for only $68 each... best day of the trip. You have to rent a car and travel the coast... be sure to check out the outlet stores in Los Americas.

“Awesome hotel.”

I loved this hotel!! It was in an awesome location, walking distance so many shops, bars, restaurants, the plaza and the harbor! You can catch the bus and trolley right around the corner. For two young girls staying in the middle of downtown san diego, we felt extrememly safe. The hotel staff was very helpful with the bus schedule and info about the zoo and seaworld ( you can get discount tickets there). The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rooms have beautiful beds and bathrooms and tv's. Just a great place to stay at a great price. :)

“Nice boutique hotel in the Gaslamp”

I stayed here pre-cruise with my Canadian friends. It's a very nice, clean, boutique hotel, walking distance to Horton Plaza. We stayed one night but it just had a warmer touch than your standard chain hotel. It's nicely decorated (art deco) and the flat screen TVs in the room and the bathrobes are a very nice touch. The parking was really stiff at $26/night and I would have liked a cruise/parking special of say $15/night.

“Terrific stay, fantastic staff”

My friend and I stayed at the Bristol Hotel for two nights over a long weekend. We had a double room and everything was great. View of the Greyhound station was less than ideal, but it's downtown San Diego so there aren't lots of great views to be had. The location was excellent for its proximity to nightlife, restaurants and public transit. Every member of the hotel staff we came into contact with was very pleasant and helpful, and the hotel itself is very stylish, clean and well-maintained. We even liked the coffee in the coffee maker in our room. Great hotel, especially for the price.

“Great location and great hotel”

We stayed at the Bristol Hotel for 3 nights and they only complaint we had is that the lift (elevator) is extremely slow! The hotel is 5 mins walk to the Gaslamp Quarter and the Horton Plaza - great shopping. We could even walk to Petco Park and Seaport Village (though we used the trolley service for this). The room was decorated in a lovely black & red art deco style and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was small compared to the room but no complaints. Our room overlooked the rear of the hotel so no view but no street noise either. The valet parking worked well and we didn't see our car from the time we parked to the time we left. We thought $22 worth the convenience. Our room had a good shower and a decent hairdryer.
