“Great Boutique Option”
This is a very nice option for those not wanting to stay in a huge chain hotel. The service was extremely friendly - the building - though not extremely attractive on the exterior - was well appointed and very clean. Great location across the street from Horton Plaza and other downtown attractions.
“I will be staying at the Bristol on my next stay.”
At the Bristol I had a beautiful room. Comfortable, tastefully decorated and above all clean. All the staff were most helpful. The resturaunt was very flavorful with an outstanding variety and had a great presentation.
“good hotel; looses some of the details”
enjoyed the hotel overall (e.g. clean, comfortable, necessities, etc). specific details on my profile of light sleeper and I even called after the booking to confirm they received my request of away from ice machine/elevator, loud noises. Unfortunately, at 9?30 pm when I was climbing in bed the entire room started to shake due to the party upstairs just above us. Yes, their party room was directly above my room. Yes, they apologized that they should have factored into it of the upcoming parties during my stay, but seems that as a BIG oversight. Had to be moved abruptly and they did have another room a few floors down that I should have been put in in the 1st place. With my talk with the Mgr, she did offer to credit me one night stay. They were perfect at trying to rectify mistakes, I must admit. Other than this oversight, it was great stay and I WOULD go back again, too.
“Off the beaten path”
I stayed here while attending a 3 day conference at the convention center. I prefer to stay in hotels off the beaten path, unique, quaint but convenient. This hotel fit that description. The hotel staff was accommodating and friendly, the hotel was unique with character and the food at the on-site restaurant as wonderful. My only complaint was that the fitness center was too small and was not sufficiently cooled.
“Funky cool hotel”
Not quite in the gaslamp, but close enough to walk to the gaslamp and the convention center and many great restaurants. The Bristol is a funky renovation of a old classic bldg. The staff is incredible and the food in the Daisy is really great, esp. breakfast!
“very satisfied customer”
Service was excellent--hotel staff was polite and eager to please. The hotel itself was charming and well-maintained. It was much nicer than the larger and much less personal chains, i.e., Marriott, Sheraton, etc.
“Excellent for the location”
Great Hotel! changing owners as indicated by the sign on the door. Great hotel at discounted rate for convention access. I had no issues- love the room. At the risk of sounding sexist- Not the safest route from the convention center. I felt safe but the women I attended with sought me out to walk back to the hotel
“Stylish, but needs a bit more upkeep”
The downtown location was central for our outings to Balboa park, the zoo, the embarcadero, and Coronado, plus it's only a few blocks to the restaurants of the Gas Lamp district and the shopping at Horton Plazza mall. No need for a car unless you're going up the coast or elsewhere far afield. We liked the styling of the hotel and our room, but it could have been cleaner and in better repair. Our tub was a bit chipped and grubby, and the drain was slow. The lobby also seemed less than polished with old cup rings on the tables and such. The staff were nice and helpful. We were on the eighth floor, which is under a ballroom. There was some noise from music and people moving about, but it wasn't too bad and didin't go on too late.
“Great location. Great staff.”
This is an excellent location in downtown San Diego ...... just around the corner from the lively Gaslamp District ...... a ten minute walk to the harbour ..... and easy access to transit. Great staff ..... very friendly and helpful .... easy going. Very clean room ...... which is also nicely detailed.
“Decent place and good location”
No issues...not a bad place to stay for the money. Very close to Gaslamp Quarter restaurants and bars and the mall. No complaints.
