“Too hot.”
We went during their off season, so the price was great and we were impressed with how nice the resort was compared to the surrounding area.
“Awesome service”
As soon as we checked in we were told there was a manager's special we didn't know about, so our rate ended up being less than half what we had booked it for. Of course, we were delighted. We loved the swimming pool / jacuzzi after long hiking days (we visited Borrego State Park at the end of May. The weather turned out to be mild enough). The room was nice and tidy. We went for dinner to a Mexican called Pablito's. We were lucky, because it's closed during the summer months, so it was closing the following Monday. I had the best carnitas I've had in my life. I'd absolutely recommend it (we loved it so much, we came back the following day)
“Annual Visitor”
Best value lodging in Borrego Springs area.
“Good luck getting a spa reservation”
All in all the hotel isn't bad. The rooms are large two room suites and they are clean. The grounds need a little more TLC. It looks like they spent a lot of money on a makeover but they haven't maintained the grounds very well. A lot of trash and weeds in the surrounding area. The biggest problem with this hotel is that they cater to the local residents of Borrego Springs. They have a brand new spa but we were unable to get any services booked because they were already full of locals for the whole weekend. One couple that I was sitting next to at the pool had paid for a spa package ahead of time and found out when they arrived that they were not able to get into the spa because of this problem. If you go into town you will see that they are advertising to the locals for daily, weekly, and monthly pool packages and spa packages. Because of this the pool was very full and we couldn't even find a chair to sit in. I thought the place was going to be abandoned in the summer but the locals fill it up every day. I wouldn't go back because of this.
“Not to impressed with the property...”
The Borrego Springs Resort and Country Club was okay. The room decor was a little out-dated. The beds were comfortable. The price of the room warranted a high-quality standard of expectation, but, it definitely fell short. Next time, we'll probably camp out at the Park.
