“Excellent surprise”
I have stayed in La Jolla for many years at a nearby Inn that is quite economical and well situated. However, when I took this trip with my daughter and needed separate beds, I decided to try the Best Western Inn By the Sea. The location is Excellent - walking distance to the main shopping, restaurants & beach areas of La Jolla. The Inn has its own parking, too. It was lovely, the service was excellent, and everything was comfortable and accommodating. I will stay there from now on, when I return to La Jolla!
“What a great vacation location!”
A short walk from the ocean, a nice (albeit simple) free continental breakfast, and one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, full of seals and pelicans and cool caves to explore. I loved the hotel and the friendly service; while there are, I am sure, fancier places to stay, the Best Western Inn By the Sea is a nice hotel in a great location.
“La Jolla's best”
The staff was very helpful, friendly, and fast with all requests. The hotel is in a great location, just one block from shops and 3 blocks from the beach. Parking can be a bit challenging, and there was some construction going on during our stay. On one of the three days we were there we were awakened at 7 am by hammering, we called the front desk and it was resolved. The free wireless internet access and the continental breakfast were an added convenience. Overall, a great place to stay, I will surely return to this hotel.
“Affordable, very comfortable hotel in La Jolla”
Good quality and excellent price, right in the middle of downtown La Jolla, two blocks from the Ocean.
“Location, location, location”
Compared to any other hotel in La Jolla this was by far the best price for the location. Three minute walk to the ocean, right in downtown, walk to every type of restuarant imaginable. Two compaints, you had to pay extra for parking ($12/day) and the complimentary breakfast was sparse.

Perfect location, good service, comfortable room, nice view! It is all perfect! Very good price/value!
“I would recommend it for sure”
the place is neat with great location and helpful staff, only the breakfast room is small with very little variety on the menu. but i would recommend it definitely and for sure gonna return back.
“An Upscale Best Western in an Upscale Shopping District”
Parking for check-in was tight, but we were lucky enough to get the last parking space. The lobby is beautiful and the check-in staff was very attentive. Be aware that there is a nightly charge for parking. Parking lot was frequently close to full, but we found a space each night. Guests can also park in a business parking structure across the street using the parking pass you purchase. The hotel was very clean and had modern fixtures, decorative items, and amenities. Our room was very comfortable. The windows are single-pane, so you do hear street noise, but the street is very quiet after 10pm. We made a special request to the staff and they did their best to meet that request. We were very impressed with the service and we would definitely go back. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, many shopping opportunities, and has a vibrant night-life.

“Nice hotel with fair price”
Nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. Simple and nice decor. Close to the beach, just a few minutes’ walk to see the seals and birds. Free wireless internet access which is very convenient. Fair price. Great place to experience La Jolla with the location. I will stay in this hotel again in the future.
