Two miles from LegoLand and Sea Life Aquarium, The Carlsbad Flower Fields and great outlet shopping. Two blocks from the San Diego Coaster rail service to the Del Mar Racetrack or downtown San Diego's vibrant Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Ball Park. Thirty minutes to San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Qualcomm Stadium and San Diego Wild Animal Park.

Outside of our private beach entrance, jog along miles of sandy beaches or, instead, enjoy the view at our oceanfront swimming pool. Golf at courses that host the Masters, take a limousine wine tasting tour, go deep sea fishing from the neighboring harbor. Rent a board and catch the waves or rent a bicycle and explore miles of flat trails. Take a stroll through scenic Batiquitos Lagoon Nature Preserve, or book yourself a day of pampering at one of the many local spas, including Carlsbad Mineral Spa founded in 1882. Day Trip to the Oceanside Art Museum, the splendid gardens of Encinitas Self Realization Temple or the Quail Botanical Gardens. Shop till you drop at the Carlsbad Premium Outlet Center and catch bargains at retailers like Polo, Michael Kors, David Yurman, Ferragamo, Coach and Barney’s.

“Can't wait to return”
I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The location is the best, right on the beach. I would really enjoy returning. The only thing I would improve is including a bathtub. The rooms are super spacious and the sunset was amazing.

“Relaxing beach break”
This is a small, comfortable hotel right on the beach. It is very relaxing, the staff are extremely friendly, and the rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, with ocean view rooms providing both a view and sound of the surf. This hotel is not for everyone, it is not a large business hotel, or a resort, or a funky boutique hotel, but it is a very nice, friendly and comfortable place to relax on the beach.

Great! Especially if you like the ocean. Close to lots of restaurants and shops, massage parlors. Sets in a quiet family type community, everyone we met seemed friendly. Prices were very reasonable especially at the restaurants
“Terrific Can't wait to go back”
This hotel is BEAUTIFUL! Upon checking in we actually had to wait an hour for the building inspector to finish inspecting our room. We were the first person to stay in the room since the renovations and it was well worth the wait. My 10 y.o daughter and I went here for a much needed vacation and loved every minute of it. The people were great and the room was absolutely divine.

We loved our stay at the Beach Terrace Hotel. The rooms are spacious, quiet and the proximity to the beach is well worth the $.

It may be slightly steep in price, but you will not be disappointed in this hotel. The rooms are massive and nicely decorated. The beds are as comfortable as they come. Don't miss this place!

“Right on the Beach!!!”
We stayed in an "Oceanfront King" room. The room was amazing and huge (about 700 sqft.). Hotel room balcony was big and directly overlooked the beach. There was a loveseat and a table with 2 chairs on the balcony. I estimate that the water was less than 50 yards from the balcony - Incredible views and sounds of the waves!! The continental breakfast was great; there was hot & cold cereal, eggs, pastries, yogurt, granola, juices coffee, etc. The staff throughout the entire hotel was super friendly and very accomodationg. We arrived 2 hours before check-in, and Kathy at the front desk kept tabs on the maids and let us check-in as soon as the room was cleaned; it turned out to be about an hour and a half before actual check-in time. There is a nice pool area, complimentary beach towels, and direct beach access at the hotel. A ton of great restaurants, bars, and shopping are located within a 5-minute walk from the hotel. It is very hard to find a hotel that is right on the beach from Orange County down to San Diego. We've tried a few in this area, and this is hands-down the best. These hotel rates are expensive because of location. Beach Terrace Inn is one where you actually get what you pay for. Here's a tip: If you want unobstructed panoramic ocean views from your room, make sure you book the "Oceanfront King." It was pricy, but worth it.
