“Great hotel!”
This hotel was a wonderful place to stay during our recent stay. Very friendly, clean, free breakfast and wireless; a great value overall.
“I Loved the Bay Club!”
The staff at the Bay Club were all very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. My room looked out over the bay and I saw ships coming and going. There is a walk down to a fishing pier that I really enjoyed. I am an older lady and felt totally comfortable and safe on my own. The food at the hotel is good and reasonably priced. The complementary breakfast was very nice and definitely worth a tip to the people who even remembered what I wanted to drink each morning!! I cannot wait to go back!
“Enjoyed this facility and the surroundings, would stay there again.”
My lady friend usually does the reservations for us, plane & lodging, but being busy, asked me to do this one for San Diego, kind of as a test that I could find a good place. When she checked the details of what I had done before and after arrival, she and I were VERY pleased. The only minor problem was the bathroom door was sticky to open and close. The setting is awesome. Even saw seals close in as we walked the harbor periphery.
“Nice, comfortable hotel”
Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of parking. Reasonable food and drink prices. Nice view of the marina and harbor. Comfortable bed.
“Peaceful and relaxing”
A peaceful and relaxing time. The view was beautiful. The morning and evening walks next to the bay was relaxing. When they allow pets, we will be coming back.
“Looking forward to visiting again!”
Staff was very friendly and courteous as well as helpful. Loved the location as well as the hotel. No charge for parking which was refreshing. We rented a car thru the hotel and it was delivered as promised. We have stayed at 4 other hotels in San Diego on previous visits all which were located more in the downtown area - Shelter Island and Bay Club and Marina were a perfect choice for our summer visit. Really felt like a vacation destination - not just a hotel!
“Nice, quiet location”
The hotel was older, but very clean, and the staff was very nice.
“Winner for our stays in San Diego every time we go back”
I was completely impressed with the property. I was a little apprehensive to book with them when I read about the views that boast to be of good quality, but I definitely got what I paid for and more. We were on the first floor but had an awesome view of the San Diego skyline. The swimming pool/spa area is located with an awesome view of the Marina during the day and a sexy lighted setting for the late evening. It was clean, buffet was delicious and not skimpy, the view from the dining area was awesome, the staff was friendly, It was close to beach, Sea World, local stores, seafood restaurants. I will definitely stay with this hotel again when visiting San Diego.
“Bad Internet Service”
The Internet was fine for awhile, then it became extremely slow. It took more than 30 seconds to get on google.com as well as other websites. I needed to use the Internet, but really couldn't given that it took forever to load a page. The front desk was not able to help. They said other people also had the same problem, and they said they would call a technician to look at the problem, but no one ever did. This put a damper to my stay at the hotel. I will not be going back.
“Great Meeting Place”
The hotel is from a bygone era but it maintains its charm and is well taken care of and the rooms are very clean. Each has a kitchen suite but the best part is the hotel restaurant. The chef does a great job on the menu. Live music and kareoke in the bar attract the evening crowd. Right across from Balboa park, it's a great place to start from when visiting the park attractions.
