“very nice and clean hotel”

“Great Location for beach access”
In walking access to Mission Bay and Pacific Beach area's. Great kids hotel. Mine loved the seals in the front area.
“Close to Beach, Great place for family”
We loved that we could walk to the beach. Our room overlooked the bay. Everything was comfortable and clean. We will definately be back.
“our sweet cleaning ladies did our dishes!!”
My family enjoyed our stay at the Bahia. The room, albeit outdated a bit, served its purpose and was very spacious (we had a kitchenette studio). The large windows/sliding door with partial view of the harbor and beautiful palms outside made for a bright room. The comfort of the bed and pillows were lacking, and there was strong chemical smell (assuming bug spray) when we first arrived that was very unpleasant but went away after the first couple of days (sliding door open). The staff was really nice and friendly and accomodating when we needed things that were not provided in the kitchen. And, they did our dishes!!! My boys loved the free arcade and HUGE hot tub. The pool is very large and clean as well. Plus the location is great for Seaworld, Mission Beach, etc. Once the remodeling is finished, I'm sure the grounds will be beautiful. If we were going back to the Mission Beach area, we would definitely return to the Bahia. They are remodeling some of the rooms now, so I'm sure it will only be nicer in the future.
“Beautiful setting”
Hotel is on a peninsula in San Diego bay. Wonderful 360° views over the bay. Great location, private bay beach and 10 minute walk to ocean beaches. Kayak rentals, huge hottub, nice warm pool, seal pond, paddle wheel steamer cruise, tennis with free equipment. Nearby Mission Beach neighborhood offers lots of bars and restaurants. Short drive to zoo and Balboa park museums, and Seaworld. Coin-op laundry available. Pool and hottub open until 11:00 PM. Plenty of parking. Nice bar with entertainment and decent restaurant. We had big room with a kitchenette that was kept spotless. Did not like epilepsy-inducing fluorescent lights in in the hallway, and I reccomend you bring your own pillow.
“Room in four-story building”
The hotel has several buildings. The room on the second floor of the four-story building with a bay view was just excellent. However, friend of mine who stayed with his wife in the other two-story building said that their room looked more like a motel. So, if you are planning to book a room here, please call the hotel and ask for available options.
“Would recommend”
It was what we expected. It's an older hotel that is a little worn but is undergoing renovation. Room was larger that expected w/full kitchen. It was an easy ride in and out of the city. Would recommend if you have a car. Staff was very curteous and helpful. Food selection was a bit limited but breakfast was very good.
“Serene and Peaceful”
We booked a queen garden room but surprisingly were upgraded to King suite with a bay view. The unit is very comfortable, clean and quite. The evening cruise boarding Bahia Belle is a plus. Some sections of hotel is under major renovation but that didn't interfere with our stay. The food service is not that interesting, but there are many good restaurants withing driving distance. Will Go Back Again
“loved it”
We had a bay front view- Our room was very spacious and accommodating (we are a couple with no children). The location was very conveniant and was close to several attractions. Bahia's staff was very informed and helpful for all of our asked questions and advice. The only complaint we had is that there was always little to no hot water for showering.
“Great getaway”
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Bahia. There are several types of rooms, I think we had the best in the 4 story building, the room was huge, had a kitchen, well decorated, and had floor to ceiling windows the entire wall with nice dark curtains. There was a lot of much needed renovation happening, but did not disturb us at all. Parking is free, but difficult to get a spot close by. We seemed to be less than 10 minutes to everywhere wee wanted to go. The pool area and large hot tub were very cozy and fun. Great to have your own beach on the property with a wide variety of water sports A free (for hotel guests) boat ride across the bay was a great way to see the area and included a bar, music and dancing. I would absolutely stay here again.
