“good service. Needs updating. Especially air conditioning”
Good Service and responsive. Area a little rough. Rooms could use updating. Especially the air conditioning. Really loud
“The beds and pillows were great!!!!”
I went with my wife and our two kids ( 5 & 8 ) Had a great time swam in the pool which was great. Checked the local strip mall which is walking distance and the Chinese/Japanese resturant is the best. Fresh and very tasty. Must go! The BBQ place not good! Carls Jr on the corner and gas stations all over. It's in the east county of San Diego so not to close to the city but only approx 20 min away. The beds, pillows and down comforters are awsome. We will be back ther again....
“You'll be seeing us again...”
Great place to stay...Great pool, great location and great customer service....Thank you..
“Not so special!”
The check in process was slow. The main office is quaint, but the rooms are dull. Not practical for a business traveler. The air conditioner would not cool the rroom, really hot when I checked in. The bed was pretty good. I would not stay there again.
“The good and bad of it......”
The Ayres Inn in Alpine is a little older than the other Ayres Inns. Felt more like a motel look due to all the doors open away from the building. Another disappointing aspect was there was no WiFi in our room. We mentioned it to the front desk, and all they did was apologize. The complimentary newspaper was basically one paper that is in the lobby, and I do mean one. When I asked about the newspaper, the front desk personal mentioned the one they had must have been taken by another guest. Later, an employee brought three more papers because I was not the only one who asked about it. One last gripe was they served cookies, and we learned that from the casino driver, not the Ayres Inn employees. Did not know when the cookies were served, which would have helped with my disappointed mood of the place. We never did have a chance to have any cookies. Despite my gripes, I did like the staff. They allowed us to use the computer in the lobby, and were very polite, just not too effective. The shuttle to the casion/outlet center was great and handy. Nice lobby with a very friendly cat. Breakfast was okay, but eating area was small. My wife and I ate in the lobby instead, which had plenty of room. Probably would not return, unless they update the rooms.
“4 part vacation”
good location, refuge from the children at a good price.
“Great hospitality in Alpine, California”
The staff were very helpful, even in showing us that their billing, less than we had been told by Expedia, was all that they were charging us.
“Fantastic hotel!!”
I travel quite a bit and usually stay with Sheraton or Westin, because I can be assured of the hotel's quality regardless of the country/location. I stayed in the Ayres Hotel in Alpine because it was the only hotel near my neice and nephew's house...This hotel was so much more than I expected! The room was immaculate (an absolute must for me), a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and fantastic guest service...it was the only time I'd ever gotten a call from the front desk after check-in to be sure the room was to my liking.
“Nice place, great weather”
Ayres Inn was well maintained in a convenient location. Complementary breakfast was good.
“No thank you”
The hotel lobby was nice and the staff was very friendly, when we checked in anyway. We request a non smoking room since I am expecting and when we walked up to our room it smelled heavily of smoke. When we asked to be moved to a different room there was no vacancy. Nothing was done to try to make our stay more comfortable or corrected. I was upset that they listed the room as non smoking when it obviously was smoked in previously.
