“Hotel Made The Trip!!!!”
We can't say enough about the Riverwalk Vista. Probably the best hotel we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The rooms were so cofortable and beautiful. Loved the breakfast and so close to the Riverwalk. Hope to return someday.
“We WILL be returning”
We stayed at the River Walk Vista for our 1 year anniversary and we absolutely loved it!!! I wanted to stay in a nice place that was close to everything and if that is what you are looking for this is DEFINITELY the place! The River Walk Vista gives you the feel of a Bed and Breakfast with the privacy of a hotel! Not to mention the homemade breakfast, free internet, and personal key pad entry to the building where all rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor, you will not be disappointed. I can not say enough about this place.... EXCELLENT!
“GREAT Place!”
If you don't mind a very short walk from the parking garage across the street, this couldn't be a better choice. Beautiful room, fabulous location, wonderful staff. Be sure to have a couple of glasses of their complimentary wine they put out each afternoon! It was lovely!
“Ding Ding Ding- WE HAVE A WINNER!!”
Quaint, charming, THOUGHTFUL Boutique Inn!Extremely well situated on a great part of the Riverwalk, the most charming area of San Antonio. Everywhere you'd want to go is just a quick walk, many restaurants and shopping; Alamo, etc very close. Rustic/Clean/Modern/Charming rooms! High ceilings, rich wood furniture, lots of space, comfy amenities (down comforters, hair dryer, bathrobes, toiletries, great roomy 'rain'type shower, a rubber ducky!, DVD rentals, cookie time, complimentary wine in evenings, umbrellas in room, free internet, great breakfast and a "thera-fish"!) Not your average inn; this is a gem. I will return and will probably purchase a weekend for my sister and her fiance to come as well. Totally worth ditching the safe chain hotel or other sometimes overpriced options.
“San Antonio at its best”
I stayed in San Antonio for a conference (June 2010) and didn't want to stay at the convention hotel, preferring something more authentic and friendlier, but that also had all the necessities for a semi business trip. I hit the jackpot. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful and they went the extra mile, not just once but several times. I cannot fault the hotel, I loved the decor and the building and it was great to come back from a busy convention day and feel welcomed and looked after.
“Great Place”
This hotel met my every expectation. It was very clean, steps away from the riverwalk (literally across the street), great breakfast included in price, updated bathrooms, unique rooms, comfortable atmosphere, centrally located - two blocks from The Alamo, and close to every restaurant we wanted to experience. We had a room located on an outer wall next to the street, it was a little noisy but didn't keep us awake at night. This is a boutique hotel, so it has a feeling of a overly large bed and breakfast. Unloading can be difficult on the busy street, luckily we brought the smaller vehicle so it wasn't too bad. Parking garage located across the street (walking distance) and we paid $22 for Friday, Saturday, and left at noon on Sunday. I would recommend a stay at this hotel to anyone. Enjoy the older building and all it's history. Due to certain circumstances, our room wasn't ready when we arrived even though we had arrived at our expected arrival time. I would recommend to call ahead when you make it into town to make sure your room is ready. Small place, small staff, it's to be expected.
“Wish we were as impressed with San Antonio as we were by this hotel”
What a great place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were large and airy and comfortable and beautiful with large windows. Ideally situated across the street from the Riverwalk and 5 minutes walk from the Alamo. We didn't find much to like about San Antonio, though. The Alamo was interesting and the Riverwalk was beautiful, but the weather was stormy and muggy, there was plenty of garbage on the streets, and not all that much to do. This hotel was so nice, it might almost tempt us to return to San Antonio!
“Riverwalk Vista Review”
The Riverwalk Vista was a very nice place - I'd definitely recommend it. It is right across from the Riverwalk. At 3 stories it has much more charm than many of the big name hotels which have towers nearby. And it was right across from the convention center! Many of my fellow convention goers didn't have it so nice at the convention's "preferred" hotels and paid more. The area did have one drawback - the Southern Pacific railroad passes about a mile away and there is horn and clatter noise for the rooms facing east (the non Riverwalk view).
“The Perfect hotel for a trip to Downtown San Antonio”
This hotel is right in the middle of it all. The Alamo is two blocks the Rivercenter Mall is two blocks the River Walk is 40 feet out the front door. Pat O'briens is four or five doors down. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. This place is the BEST I have ever stayed at in San Antionio. It is small and if you were not looking for it you wouldn't give it a second thought as you walked passed, but it is worth the look. The staff is extreemly friendly and you can tell they love the place they work in. It has such a warm and inviting atmosphere inside that we actually spent a good amount of time just walking around the halls looking at the pictures and enjoying the rooms charm. This hotel only has 17 rooms and is an old mercantile building converted to a hotel. The age of the building is incorporated into the look and charm of the place. I can not say enough to convey that this Hotel is the best in terms of location and overall experience that I have ever stayed at in San Antonio and I have stayed at a lot of the "Big Chain" hotels at twice the cost of this one and never left with such a desire to plan my next trip back.
“Wonderful historic hotel”
Wonderful place, very neat and clean. Helpful staff until about 9 pm, then a night manager until 11. High ceilings, very modern bathrooms and showers, comfortable rooms with good lighting, free cookies and wine in afternoon, delicious extensive hot and cold breakfasts. On the Riverwalk, about two blocks from the Alamo. Air conditioning can be loud, as can street traffic, but well worth it and we didn't find it distracting. We would definitely recommend it and go there as a first choice. Oh, one thing: the advertised "access to" a fitness room is in another hotel, a several block-away walk away. But it's a great city to walk in, especially along the Riverwalk. Good public transportation, trolleys and buses, for $4/day.
