“Great Hotel”
This hotel is beautifully appointed and had two of the best restaurants on the River Walk. The only thing that was unusual is that the bathrooms, like the entire hotel were very dark. Only one light on the side of the mirror. This made doing your hair and make-up a little bit of guess work. Of course the up side was your flaws didn't show!
“One of the finest on the Riverwalk!”
Very modern and upscale. My fiance and I were very impressed with this hotel. I look forward to returning in the near future. I HIGHLY recommend this gem on the river. Truely one of the finest on the Riverwalk!
“An Engineer's Perspective”
If your wife won't settle for anything less than one of the trendiest hotels on The River, then steer her here. The rooms are spacious and very, very quiet. My brother had the adjoining room and we slept head-to-head with only a wall intervening. His snore would wake Tutankhamun from his slumbers yet I heard nothing. Too many hotels are more interested in room service revenue than in your creature comforts and deny you the convenience of in-room coffee. Even when you are lucky enough to stay where a coffee pot is included, a max of two packets of decaf and two packets of real coffee are all that are usually provided. Here there were at least five real coffee packets and the coffee was tasty to boot. The curved shower rod for the tub is a nice touch. I'm a big guy and I appreciate the extra room this gives while showering. The lamp on the nightstand had a knob controlling a rheostat. After one margarita too many the night before, it's a pleasure to wake and begin to commence to think about getting up to something less than bright white light. Speaking of rheostats. There was a lamp accenting an arty vase of long-stemmed grasses. It can be turned low enough to substitute as a night light. My criticisms are few and inconsequential. Watch out for the corners of the bed's frame - they stick out a good six inches and can whack your shin. The toilet paper roll is in a most inconvenient location - but the hardware is such that it can be easily removed for unwinding.
“Well located on the Riverwalk”
We were very satisfied. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do on our trip.
“The staff was very helpful but lacked a few details.”
They didn't tell us that there were no parking lot attendants on Sunday. Also, they weren't up to speed on what was open on the weekend.
“Valencia on the Riverwalk”
An excellent hotel and I enjoyed my stay very much. They deserve their 4 star rating and with a little hard work I can see them becoming a 5 star hotel. Close to everything, great staff and quality surroundings makes this a place you don't want to miss.
“Perfect Love Getaway”
I would highly recommend Hotel Valencia to anyone. The hospitality was excellent. The architecture design of the building was unique and very appealing to the eye. The magnificent lighting and waterfall at the entry way was breath taking. I planning our next trip to San Antonio because of your award-winning service in the near future.
“Very modern clean and impressive hotel”
The Valencia is a contemporary decor hotel, if rather dark throughout. It always seems like night inside, because they keep all of the many windows shuttered. But the rooms are very clean and comfortable, they have faux fur on the beds (gotta love that). The service is polite, prompt and professional without being drippingly friendly or obsequious. This is true for San Antonio in general, compared to other parts of the country. Some caveats: their morning wakeup call system is unreliable and unpunctual. Their clock radio looks hard to figure out, so use your own alarm. Their room service is SUPER expensive and often not worth it. Better to get breakfast and snacks at the cafe across the street from the entrance, called "Matinee".
“Great place to stay”
This was our fourth stay at the Valencia in 2 years. The hotel is showing some signs of age (the towels are not the exclusive Italian towels, but regular ones. They don't greet you with oranges anymore), but it's still a great deal and a wonderful place to stay in San Antonio. The rooms are big and comfortable. You don't notice the staff people, which for us is great...but they are available if you need them. If you want a romantic place to stay by the Riverwalk without being in the center of tourism, the Valencia is it.
“Beautiful Luxury”
I really enjoyed my stay. Beautiful rooms with lots of extras like Aveda products in the bath. Great courtyard to have a drink and relax by the foutain/ fireplace. Will definately return.
