“Great, but overpriced”
This hotel was absolutely beautiful! I loved the timelessness of it. Be warned though, it is VERY influenced by the hispanic culture. My husband & I stayed on a sat. night & felt a little out of place when we went down to Ocho. 'Specially considering we speak no spanish!! The "souvenirs" & the items they place in your room for purchase are way overpriced. You'd be better off driving to the gas station. They're selling cans of sodas for $2!!!! Ocho, the lounge, was amazing. It has a great atmosphere & the food is delicious. A little pricey, but that's expected along the riverwalk..(the mojitos are amazing!) The staff was very nice & helpful. I don't recommend staying here if you want to explore the shops & restaurants of the riverwalk. If you want a nice quiet vacation this is definitely the place to go! I believe we walked 1 1/2 mile/s to get to the very beginning of the exciting part of the riverwalk. Oh, they also have some amazingly huge towels!!! In the future we would go back if they would lower their prices, not of the rooms...but of everything they sell. I just feel ripped off looking at those dang cards that list the prices!! It's ridiculous!!!!!
“Great service, average room, cool vibe”
The hotel was not as well located as implied on the website, however this, and the awkward room layout was compensated fully by Natalia at the front desk who was full of great recommendations and advice. The upstairs porch was a lovely refuge in the pouring rain, tho the lobby areas left much to be desired. The bar was deserted on a Friday night which was disappointing. A reconfiguration of the room to create a proper seating area would be a huge plus and might get us back.
“Great Hotel with Character”
The hotel was very nice and clean. It is an older hotel but it gives it a unique personality that is really quite charming. The staff was very accommodating and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is right across the street from the Riverwalk but not right in the thick of it, which made it very convenient to get around town and the Riverwalk. I will caution you to check your bill when you leave as both ourselves and another couple that was also staying at the hotel had a $10 charge added to their bill for something taken from the mini bar in the room. We did not use anything and we had to have it taken off which they took care of immediately.
“I would stay there again”
Nice classic hotel. The bathroom door wouldn't shut and the pillows were a little thin but still overall a nice place to stay. The staff is very pleasant with a pleasing attitude. Better than the stuffy "holier than thou" attitude you get from sister hotel, St Cecilia in Austin.
“Havana nice and cozy.”
The hotel is very nice and cozy. The location is excellent. The room where we stayed was really clean, but the bed was too soft and the AC ducts were noisy so I couldn't rest as I was expecting.
“Over priced”
This hotel doesn't have hardly any modern conveniences. There is no workout facility, lighting is very poor along with very dark woodwork. There's no coffee pot in the room either. For the price I would stay some place much more modern. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable.
“Hip Havana in San Antonio”
Hotel Havana is a hip boutique hotel with an awesome bar. It' s so refreshing to stay in a hotel that is not cookie cutter like the chain hotels.
