The suite rooms are terrific. The spa was great and access to pool and hot tub made for a great combination. Location on the river, a restaurant with reasonable prices made this property a winner.

Photos are very misleading — this feels like a motel not a 4 star hotel. Building and rooms feel like a dorm. Not at all what I was expecting.

Everything was great and beautiful at Contessa. The only thing that I was not expecting was the bill I received on my check out for Amenity fee. When asked they mentioned for the pool, wifi, house keeping and etc. That is a bit weird. Are't we pay for this already?

We got a room with a view. Which was excellent. We enjoyed the patio area. Most of the staff was excellent. What we didn't like was the dining. When we received our food it was cold, not just once. They seat you and take your order and forget you. Parking is valet and they were very nice and helpful. Parking costs $49 a day.

Friendly staff. Comfortable beds and large suite room. Amazing rooftop pool and spa. Great onsite dining and riverwalk access off the bar patio. We had a grest time and almost everything was within walking distance.

Overall a nice building and the room was spacious, however the problem we had was with the bathroom. The towel bar fell off the wall, no pressure was added as it was on the floor when we checked in. There was writing in the wall by the toilet, the glass to the shower has calcium stubs all over, the lining around the window had mold, and we received a couple towels that appeared to be dirty. The room and living room were nice and comfortable. Overall I wouldn’t stay again but it’s convenient and made our stay easy.

Fantastic hotel on a quieter part of the riverwalk, but close enough to walk to any area. Room was great. Rooftop pool was also very nice. Check in was fast.

I tried several time to contact manager regarding the charges to my credit card and no answers and no call back. They didn't honor the price thatnI was given in writing from Expedia. Wouldn't recommend.

Beautiful hotel. The only thing I would say is housekeeping should be daily, and if you do set it up for daily, they only set the bed and didn’t do any other cleaning. You’re paying a nice fee each night so having a clean room each day is something I look forward to.

I specifically hated that I had to pay $150.00 per dog, per stay! Not a deposit but an actual fee. I paid more for the dogs than I did for the hotel room. No mention of this outrageous charge in the reservation process (of course not)! I’ll never - ever stay here agin.

The staff entering the Contessa are very polite and helpful. The staff at the desk are sometimes not as friendly. It would be nice to have them either tell you or hand something out about the events at the Contessa ( I.e. happy hour, mariachis, etc.). Also would be nice to have some free amenities such as coffee (although every so often we did get free liquids at the bar which was nice). The amenity add on fees at the end of your stay? We didn’t use wi-fi or the pool so they should not apply to everyone. Overall though our stays at the contessa have been really nice. We love the location. Thanks.

Everything was perfect , it was right by the riverwalk eveything is walking distance , they have a lot of police presence, the hotel was awsome , the only complain i have is when i booked one of the Main attractions was the heated pool for my daughter but when i got there , their heater went out so we couldnt get in the pool it was too cold

Room service brought down the hotel from a 4 to 5 star to a two and three. There was dirty dishes left all in the hall for 2 to 3 days the whole weekend we were staying there. Birthday weekend. Champagne and strawberrys were brought when we arrived And the dirty dishes stayed in the hall, even though we had requested three times for them to come and get them. They remained in the hall three days Until we checked out very messy, not sanitary. Overall check-in was fabulous. Valet was great. The bellboy was perfect but room service brought the hotel down to a minimal.

Contessa was great! Only negative was not having a microwave in the room to warm up leftovers, but that’s it. Staff and restaurant were all awesome! Beautiful location and rooms were so clean! Most comfortable bed I’ve set in at a hotel.

Hotel Contessa is a gem. Perfect location to the San Antonio riverwalk and only a ten minute drive to the airport. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was accomodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be back to visit.
