NOISY

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: CONVENIENT LOCATION
Cons: THE NOISE LEVEL IF POSSIBLE, BUT WITH ALL OF THE ROOMS FACING THE ATRIUM WHICH WAS TOPPED WITH A GLASS CEILING, IT MIGHT NOT BE POSSIBLE.
Location: WE WERE ON THE RIVERWALK AND EVERYTHING WAS CLOSE BY
WE WERE ON THE 7TH FLOOR, AND ON A CORNER ROOM. THE STREET NOISE WAS EXTREME, AND THE NOISE FROM THE CENTRAL ATRIUM ECHOED INTO OUR ROOM. OUR THREE NIGHTS THERE WERE SLEEPLESS.

We wanted to stay right on the river walk. The hotel is very convenient. The room was gorgeous, so large and the decor was beautiful.

Perfect location

Posted 8-Apr-2014
Pros: Loved having so much space. Separate area from bedroom with couch and television and door that separates that area from the bedroom.
Cons: N/A
Location: Right on the Riverwalk and the Alamo is just blocks away. Several places to eat and CVS is only one block away.
Hotel was centrally located. Beautiful view of the river from our room on the 5th floor. Staff went out of their way to accomodate our every need. Eddie, who was working in the front lobby, was super friendly. Open balcony on the 2nd floor was a great place to hang out on comfortable seating after a long day of sightseeing.

Won't Stay Here Again

Posted 2-Apr-2014
Pros: The location is top! The cleanliness is great. You do get the advantage of a suite as well. The rooms are lovely.
Cons: The staff was extremely rude. The restaurant Las Ramblas needs some serious help in the service area as well.
Location: The location is ideal. I can highly recommend the side of the Riverwalk Contessa is on for those looking to get away from the hussle and bussle.
Valet parking is $30. The breakfast is about $30 as well unless you get the buffet with is $16.95. We booked through Expedia & saved a little but it was only like $20 more to stay @ Contessa than Valencia & we were told breakfast would be included! NOT THE CASE. If you want to save money on the buffet do the classic buffet as they call it (I think). The waiter was rude enough to say once we placed our order for this particular buffet, SURE YOU CAN DO THAT BUT JUST STAY AWAY FROM THE HOT FOOD. Like we were children & needed to be warned. The staff, all of them, were extremely rude! The only ones that were even slightly considerate were the valet staff. It was unbelievable. We had to call 3X throughout Saturday to get an extra blanket brought up to our room. We called to have something retrieved from our car in valet & that was like moving mountains. They just didn't make anything pleasant. To further make things worse, we decided to eat at the restaurant on property Las Ramblas. We grabbed a table outside & it was 45 mins later before the waitress even came over to our table. Was she busy? NO! She had 4 other tables. Now was she confused about why were there, perhaps, because we were sitting on the 'bar' side I guess. But so were the other tables she was working. We had to get up & get our own menu. It just seemed as though she wasn't interested in waiting on us. The light over our table was out so we couldn't even see our food. Our room had an issue with a runny toilet

Worth the cost?

Posted 29-Mar-2014
Pros: The room was very nice!
Cons: We felt the staff members were a bit "cold" ... several times we walked through the lobby and no one even made eye contact with us.
Location: We were right on the riverwalk which was very nice but near the end of the activities.
Considering the cost of this hotel, we were disappointed that we couldn't even use the in-room refrigerator without being charged or the fact that there was no free parking available for their guests. The room we stayed in was very, very nice and roomy.

Family Friendly and Great Staff!

Posted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: The friendly staff, Starbucks Coffee in room, the suite was nice with plenty of room, great pool and exercise area, and location to Riverwalk.
Location: We enjoyed walking to the Alamo, riding on the river taxi, the great restaurants, and visiting Sea World.
I was looking for a hotel for our family that was nice, but still fun for the kids. The Hotel Contessa was the perfect fit. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to in town. The entire family loved the pool area and the suite. The staff was so friendly to my children that they loved it. They helped us with where to eat and how to get places. :)
