Such a pretty upscale hotel. Rosie at the concierge desk was so helpful. wonderful buffet breakfast. Staff is so friendly. nice black out curtains in room.

I stayed in the hotel 27th dec - 3rd Jan. I was travelling with my 2 daughters and my husband there was plenty room for all. We put the kids to bed at night closed the bedroom door and were then free to watch T.V with out disturbing them. The staff came to our room every morning to collect our babies bottles and took them away to sterilise and brought them striaght back. By the 2nd day the Vallet had learned out names and our childrens. Close to everything it was a great stay.

“Excellent Hotel”

My wife, son and I stayed at the Hotel Contessa over the Labor Day weekend. The hotel staff were very friendly, check in and check out were very smooth. Top marks for their Las Ramblas restaurant. If you like tapas the food is excellent, and very reasonably priced for a Riverwalk location. They also had a great selection of wines, some of which were selling for barely above cost. One thing that bothered me is that the rooms were not soundproofed very well, which is why I'm ranking the comfort lower. My wife could hear the TV in the room above us late at night, and though we were on the 7th floor we could hear the road noise on the city side fairly clearly.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very nice. We would definitley go back and recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to San Antonio. The rooms are large and very comfortable, especially the beds. Pool was a concrete jungle, a bit of a disappointment. Due to the length of our stay (8 days) we were upgraded to a river front room at no extra cost. It is a perfect location!!

“The Contessa - what we expected and more!”

We booked into the Contessa because Expedia had a superb rate for the days we needed. It was very easy to find from the highway, had (expensive) valet parking and great service. The pool area was a little piece of heaven on the roof top - heated pool, lovely loungers and fluffy towels. The suites were lovely with spanish-style furnishings. We had a standard suite with 2 double beds. My only complaints are: the the bedroom was a little small for 4 people; the beds were a little soft, but still comfy, and the bathroom door was a double door with no lock that opened into the hall betweent eh bedroom and sitting room which did not work for our family with young children. The location is fabulous. The hotel is right on the riverwalk and has a beautiful patio eating area. I highly recommend their red wine sangria. Children eat for free with an adult who orders off the main menu (but not the between-meal snack menu). It is a stone's throw from a great German diner and a short walk from the Alamo. All in all, we loved our stay at the Contessa.
