“Fab hotel. Superb location.”
Very friendly and professional staff. Renate and maurice on front reception and everyone in the hotel made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel is in a superb location and central for all the major sites in Salzburg. The rooms were very comfortable and clean.
“An excellent choice of hotel”
One could not wish for better! An excellent location, very comfortable room and particularly friendly and helpful staff. Also outstanding value for money with our booking through Expedia. We would certainly recommend the Goldener Hirsch to others and would stay there again. The unsolicited room upgrade was also appreciated.

“Simply the best”
The location is the best part. Walking distance from everything. We were also suprised with a free upgrade to an extremely nice room. We were there right at the beginning of the off season, so I wouldn't expect that to happen Spring or Summer, but it was a welcomed suprise. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating, rooms extremely clean, mini bar fully stocked. It was the most enjoyable hotel in our trip. Highly recommended.
“lovely experience, superb location, would stay again”
The location of the Goldener Hirsch could not be better, even though central to the main shopping area( between Prada and YSL!) the room was relatively quiet and very Austrian in decoration. The staff at reception were so helpful in sorting out all our requests for tours and restaurants etc. The one negative was that as breakfast was so expensive the majority of our party took breakfast elsewhere - even MacDonalds up the street!

“Classic Hotel in a Beautiful city”
Hotel is a beautifully preserved classic in the middle of old-town Salzburg. The rooms are well-appointed, bathrooms are luxurious, but they've retained a rustic charm from when the hotel first opened. Very well situated along the main shopping street, it's also very close to the new part of town (just a short walk over the bridge). The staff was completely top notch. Because it's an old hotel, there is a little bit of walking up stairs and getting into small elevators, but that's what you get for staying at a classic hotel. Definitely recommended.
“An absolutely perfect place to stay”
My wife and I loved this hotel so much that we returned to stay again on our way back through Salzburg. The hotel staff is very attentive and friendly and had lots of suggestions for restaurants and activities. The hotel is located in an ideal spot of Salzburg's old town, so everything is close by. This also allowed us to tour and explore (lots of little alley ways with hidden shops and surprises) the old part of Salzburg with ease. This convenience made for a very relaxing stay.
