“Comfortable!”
I've stayed at many different hotels and motels across the country and I can honestly say that the bed was one of the most comfortable! It's great to get a good night's sleep away from home.
“Great hotel in Salem OR”
Good location and nice rooms!
“Hotel great attached restaurant not so great”
The hotel was fine. All people very friendly. The restaurant that was attached was not that good. We went for breakfast and the service was so bad we did not go back. Food was ok. But there were no salt shakers so they gave me salt in a small "side" cup with a tiny spoon. I thought all I want is salt on my eggs. It was hard to get salt spead on eggs with a spoon. The server acted like he didn't care if he ever waited on us. We sat there for a good 10-15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. While other people who just came in were waited on. Maybe in the evening they had more qualified people scheduled, but with that experience we never went back. The restaurant directly across the street was very good. We were acknowledged and served right away. For me I was glad to see a salt shaker on the table.

“Great Response to Special Needs”
During my stay, I happened to be escorting a colleague who is blind. The hotel was GREAT in responding to our request for a room with easy access to elevators and emergency exits. The banquet food (especially the 3-entree buffet dinner) was exceptional. All staff we dealt with were very cordial.
“Very nice & Clean--”
The hotel, from the outside, isn't much to look at, but the inside tells a different story. Very pleasant decor with comfortable beds & of course all the fluffy pillows you could want! The one draw back was that breakfast wasn't included with the price of the hotel stay, but we did have a very delicious omlet from the downstairs restaurant--prices were very reasonable. We also ordered their Bananas Foster for dessert one night, and it was not only good, but fun to watch the waitress prepare. As far as quietness goes, the hallways were a little noisy and we could hear people upstairs walking around, but nothing that the hotel fan didn't cover. Wonderful hotel for the price!
“Perfect for the Price”
I was at the hotel for a workshop, which made everything really convenient. The hotel is located just off the freeway, so that was convenient. But we walked around the neighborhood, and there really isn't anything of any interest close by. The hotel had a nice restaurant and there is a Newport Bay just across the street also. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was comfy and had everything we needed including a small refrigerator. We didn't know they had a pool, so we didn't bring our suits, but we peeked in and there was a small pool that went about 5 feet deep. All in all a good hotel for the price.
“Excellent Accomodations”
This was our first stay at a Red Lion, we were extremely satisfied with all aspects of our stay. The people from the front desk to the cleaning staff were accommodating, cordial and helpful. Every member of the staff made us feel as if they were happy to have us stay at there hotel. Would definitely stay at this or another Red Lion on our next trip.
