"A very good evening and a very good nights' sleep"
Very interesting hotel, lots of bullfighting photos. Also it has magnificent rooms for a ball or a wedding. Had a wonderful night's stay there and wished we could stay longer. The staff were all very friendly, not much English spoken except for the young lady on the reception desk but we all seemed to understand what was being said. There are lovely grounds to the hotel and good for a walk. Secure parking if you need it.

The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
Only slight downside is the lack of a restaurant but staff could not have been more eager to give us a map and recommendations and the town ( a mere stagger from the hotel) was packed with restaurants & bars

This is truly a hidden gem of a hotel. It is situated high atop a hill with panoramic views of the Spanish and Portuguese mountains and countryside. The renovations, while still in process, are carried out thoughtfully, artfully, and expertly. Our room was very modern and comfortable. The restaurant is top notch with an award-winning chef. This is a place to unwind and relax. We were on our way to Portugal and had been travelling for 8 days already--very road weary! We almost cancelled our plans in Portugal after arriving at the Fort. The staff are more than accommodating and friendly, even assembling a tour guide for us to sites in Portugal. Please, please, please book at this place pronto!

The staff was great-helpful, pleasant and they understood English when I couldn't come up with the Spanish. The windows in our room, however began at ~10 feet from the ground. We were unable to see anything outside from our bedroom windows. The staff claimed that they were full and could not change our room, but I don't think that was true, as I was easily able to book our room only several days before we arrived, and we did not see that many visitors in our hotel building or in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is adjacent to the River Tormes, and there's a wonderful bike/pedestrian path that follows the river behind the hotel. It was really nice to go for a walk or run in the morning on that trail.

On arrival walked on the walls round the whole of the town in 40 minutes. The Cathedral still shows the cannon ball damage from Wellington assault in 1812, during the peninsular war. Fascinating for those interested in history.

Arrived at this hotel after driving all day and it was a welcomed sight. It was rainy so we couldn't go out but the hotel was more than adequate for staying in. If you like to stay outside the big city, (Salamanca was 5 miles away), this is the place for you.

My wife and I walked to the hotel, with suitcase, from the bus station. It takes bout 20-25 minutes but was no problem. It is a 3 star hotel with a quiet room and good location. The hotel provides a very nice affordable breakfast in a basement room that resembles a wine cellar. Price wise this hotel is a great deal.
