"Ok if just for one night."
Only window in room looks out into....a hallway, which affords very little privacy. A simple solution would be to replace curtains with blinds to let light in without everyone being able to see inside. Also, the staff did not tell me breakfast was included. All in all I felt it was overpriced.

"Nice but noisy"
We really liked our room in the annex across the street, however it was very noisy. We had a fan with us and that helped drown out noise from the hallway and the room next door.

The room was cozy, and done up nicely, but I had friends staying down the hall who found their room less appealing (slanted floors, older fixtures, inconsistent thermostat control). The one complaint we all had was that the water temperature for the shower fluctuated wildly, making morning showers a bit uncomfortable. But the staff were pleasant, there was a kitchenette for convenience and overall the experience delivered good value for the price.

"On outskirts with easy subway access"
If you don't mind driving through Montreal to get to this hotel/motel on the outskirts, it is a nice option. We loved the free parking and free, responsive wifi. The subway/metro is next door and in 15-20 minutes, we were in Old Montreal. We also went to Olympic Stadium in about 10 minutes and in another 10, to Mont Royal station where we caught bus #11 to the top of the mountain. And if you want to opt out of restaurants here or there, there is a Harvey's next door and a very nice mall across the street for food court or shopping. There is also a Loblaws 2 doors down for bottled water, coffee/muffins, wine, etc. The hotel was clean and people were nice- fluent in English and French. Outside of a bunch of kids running around on the second night, it was quiet. A very good option for us at a very good price.

It's not often that we recommend brushing up on your Italian before visiting a Canadian city. However, it never hurts to know a few phrases of the mother tongue before you head to Saint Leonard. This borough of Montreal is home to the city’s highest concentration of Italian residents. Pastry shops, robust outdoor gardens, and a spirit of generosity cover the sidewalks like thick Parmesan cheese on your favourite pasta dish. In addition, all the fabulous architecture and stunning churches you love about the City of Saints can be found here. You might say that checking into a Saint Leonard hotel is like transporting to a wonderland where Italian food, French architecture, and Canadian sensibilities come together to form the perfect neighborhood. Celebrate Life in Saint Leonard, QC

This neighborhood outshines Little Italy as the largest and most authentic centre for Italian culture in Montreal. You’re definitely going to need your willpower on this vacation when it comes to great food. Countless windows display colourful assortments of cannoli, lobster tails, and gelato. You can also get your fill of homemade wines, marinara sauces, thick breads, sausages, and cheeses. You’ll definitely want to be here during the many seasonal and religious festivals which occur throughout the year. Locals commemorate holidays with food, processions, and festive music.

    Weather in the Neighborhood

All four seasons come and go with such poise and beauty in this charming neighborhood. Hot and humid summer days draw out families from their homes to gather with neighbors to chat outside or listen to music from the homeland. Pleasant temperatures of around 22 degrees Celsius practically invite you to sit at a sidewalk café to savour a bowl of hazelnut gelato. Things get a little snowy and icy when winter temperatures creep down to below freezing. Of course, hot pasta dishes and frothy caffè lattes will leave you feeling warm and satisfied when you dine at an intimate restaurant near your Saint Leonard hotel. Spring and fall are mild as lambs around here. Dress for temperatures near 11 degrees Celsius if you visit during either of the two seasons.

See, Hear, and Taste Saint Leonard

Perhaps the most enchanting thing about Saint Leonard is that it is home to the city’s amazing caves. Caves made of stratified limestone were discovered underground in 1812. They are now considered a heritage attraction. The underground network of wonder is accessible to the public through guided excursions. Are you planning on seeing some of the city on your bicycle? Back above ground, the neighborhood contains several miles of bike paths which connect various parks and public spots. Duck into beautiful Saint Leonard Church on Jarry Street to admire its great architecture and artwork. True to the Italian roots of the neighborhood, most parks contain bocce courts.
