“Excellent staff, great food!”
The staff was very helpful, especially at the front desk & in the restaurant. We avoided the pub, which was noisy and ate both dinner & breakfast at the Four Seasons -- excellent food and service. Our room was a bit stuffy, but we would stay at this hotel again.
“Good for a stop over with young kids”
Stayed in this hotel for a single night on a long road trip. For the outside the hotel is quite appealing and the reception area was close to a 4 star standard. What really set this hotel apart for us was the pool and kid friendly activities. They had a large slide and climbing area, free ping pong and pool all in a large open area surrounding the pool which itself was a good size (for a hotel of this kind). They had a life guard on duty and more of an outdoor landcaping even though the pool was inside. There is also an outdoor pool (although it was too cold to warrant usage). The rooms were adequately furnished and the price was fai. The only negative would be the musty smell leading up to the room and the smoke smell in the 'non-smoking' room - but heh, this is Quebec so I suppose it is just part of the experience.
“Brand new but needs repairs already”
It was my second stay at this new Montreal hotel. First time was in their first week and needed to fix some things, as hot and cold water were piped in correctly. This time, air con and the pluming in the bathroom (not fixed) were defective. But everything else was very fine.
“Very convenient for trade show/convention”
I stayed at this hotel because I was attending a trade show there. It was very convenient. The business room was roomy, bright, clean and had a fridge for cold drinks. Make sure you stay in a tower roomn, the other room are around the pool area over 2 floors with no elevator to the second level. The quality of the room are also very different. Staff at the front desk was courteous and knowledgeable. The room rate I got came with a breakfast which was worthy of 3 stars-- Very basic. There was many restaurants around the hotel with many within walking distance. the hotel itself had two restaurant-- a pubstyle very limited selection and the other restaurant was buffet style (I dine there) worth 4 stars. The staff service was 5 stars. I would stay there again if I needed to go to another trade show. The hotel is approx. 30 minutes east from downtown Montreal so I would not stay there if I wanted to visit Montreal because of the traffic. Overall I give this hotel a 3 1/2 stars.
“So So Room”
Bed matress was old and worn which gave me a sore back. Room was not appealling. Not a 3 1/2 star quality. Needs makeover. Was woken up by noisy guests (French) Kids loved the pool and jungle gym.
“3 star claiming to be 4”
We have stayed at this hotel several times. The common facilities - business services, restaurants, child care, meeting rooms etc. - are excellent, extensive and worthy of a 4 star rating. The rooms are 2-3 star at best. The walls and furniture badly need repair, paint and updating. The quality of furnishings were more what you would expect at a Super 8 than a 4 star hotel. There was no doorman on duty to help with luggage and no valet parking, requiring guests to haul their own luggage over acres of frozen snow-covered parking lot. The supplies in the bathroom - a one-type squeeze bottle mounted on the molded shower stall wall - were again suitable to a cheap highway motel, not a 4 star hotel. They either need to upgrade many of their guest services or drop the rating and the prices.
“Not impressed”
Totally not impressed. The rooms are clean, but very outdated and lack of decor that causes a lot of echo in the room. It was a cold weekend and it was very hard to find a warm place even in the room the heat was at about 25C something that we are not use too. The service at the front desk was mediocre.
“Only hotel in Ste-Hyacinthe”
Since Hotel des Seigneurs is the only hotel in the town, you have to stay there if you don't want to stay in a motel. Big hotel that runs a lot of trades shows in the area. In serious need to be renovated since it (and rooms) are very outdated. Otherwise, it will do for a 1 night stay.
“Over-rated”
This hotel rates itself as 4 Star. It isn't. It's quite an acceptable 3 Star. The cost of a room was the same as I had paid the night before in Montreal at a real 4 Star Hotel, and while suburban St. Hyacinthe is a nice place, it ain't downtown Montreal. On arriving we found the parking lot full due to Chritmas parties being held at the hotel, but no valet parking service. We had to park almost a block away and carry our own bags back to the hotel. The room was clean and adequate, but again a long way from 4 Star. There were scuffs and dirt marks on the carpet and the wallpaper; the bathroom had a one-piece molded plastic tub shower unit; shampoo and soap were in the same utility grade squeeze bottle mounted on the shower wall; the funishings were ok for a recreation room, but again a long way short of 4 Star. The staff were pleasant and fully bilingual. The hotel next door looked like it would offer a similar quality of overnight stay at about half the price.
