The room was very clean. The staff was very friendly & accomodating. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues. The bed was smaller than expected as well as the love seat sized futon, which we needed for sleeping accommodation. The picture of the room in the booking site was a fair bit larger than the room we were given. The building itself is quite old & parking is on street. We did not have a problem parking at all. And with access to the rooms being off street front - the parking worked well. Being a travelling construction worker by trade - I have stayed in many very similar hotels in smaller cities/towns. This was one of the cleaner, older hotels or motels I have stayed in. However the price was by far the most expensive for the condition of this property. I would have expected to pay about 1/2 the price or less than we did, for the condition of the amenities. But as described at the beginning - the staff were very pleasant & the room was clean. If you have to get only two things correct - those would probably be on the top of my list.

If you’re looking for a place to lay your head for a couple nights at a reasonable rate then feel safe to book here. It’s nothing fancy by any means, so if you have high standards, it may not be the place for you. Yeah, there was a bit of bar noise, but nothing I haven’t heard at fancier hotels too. The room I had was huge. It’s dated, but clean. Owner was super nice and helpful.

This is an older small town hotel and the room matched the description. The room was clean, larger than expected and was setup as a suite. However, there was black mold in the shower that we had the staff clean up. The owner was accommodating for dealing with issues. The room had a fridge and microwave but surprisingly didn't have a coffeemaker. We had to go out for morning coffee since the restaurant didn't open until 10 AM. We could hear music from the bar at times too.

I love the old styel of the place. They had actual keys, the floors creek with the sound of strong strudy wood the the funiture was unique and the place was it's own instaed of being the same as evey other hotel, motel, or inn that i have ever been. It's cozy and quaint.

Your review is a joke… when you checked in you thought the rooms were perfect, now this??? Your room was left a mess with beer bottles all over… don’t bother booking this hotel again.

I was on the way to Alberta with both of my parents so I stayed here for 1 night in early August. Not all rooms have AC but it was not hot inside my room. The owner was really kind and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

There was a mixup with our room. We were to have a larger one with 3 beds. In the end Eugene offered us an extra room at no charge. The rooms are not very modern but we’re very clean and comfortable. We found Eugene went above and beyond and we would recommend this inn.

I decided not to stay as there was nothing for my two year old to do or us parents as we don't drink or gamble. We had been travelling for 2 weeks and my daughter didn't understand we just buried her grandfather and uncle so we did our best to make the trip enjoyable for her.

This review is totally unfair... to show up after checking into another place and requesting a refund knowing our 24 hour refund policy... then giving a 1 out of 5 review without even seeing the room reflects on the person you are... I wonder what rating you would have given, if any, if a refund or partial was provided...

Do not judge the hotel by the outside. Gene was very helpful and kind. He came out to my vehicle and carried my suitcase up as there is no elevator and I find stairs hard to navigate

The people on the small town of Russell are wonderful and the staff an owner of the Asessippi Inn are just too amazing. When I was stranded they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and help me get home.

Room Was in very good condition, clean. Restaurant was not operating and pub did not provide food. Check in was odd, hsd to checkin at pub. Ovrrall Inn has clean rooms, csrpets and building need cleaning and updating.

I would not stay at this location again, and would not recommend this as a location to stay at for anyone. It was cheap, the room was reasonably clean, but the bed was old and uncomfortable and just not a very nice place.

The room was very noisy from the pub below. People were constantly stepping into the hallways from the pub to smoke cigarettes and weed. To make matters worse there was a raging bar party that moved from the pub into the hotel after closing time. I was never able to reach anyone to try to get things under control. The administration/front desk numbers either ring forever or go to Heather’s VM that is full. Do not stay here.

You were given an option not to take a room above the Tavern. The guests that were smoking in their room and had an after party were charged in accordance to our no smoking and noise policy. You were also given a free nights stay due to some confusion with Expedia. I don’t have a voicemail, but I was here that whole evening doing my best to keep everyone happy. I would be more than happy to give you a refund.

Pros: - easy enough to find - staff are very kind and friendly - very low cost - tv in room has Netflix - clean beds Cons: - large patch of mold on shower curtain - complementary shampoo bottles were completely empty - emergency fire escape was blocked on one end of hallway and windows in room were screwed shut (huge fire hazard) - beds were uncomfortable Final conclusion; Its cheap for a reason and thats because its not supposed to be super fancy, its a place to sleep overnight if you are spending a weekend at asessippi ski hills and it did that job perfectly.
