Basic Homey Feeling Accomodations
This was the first stop on a 2-week trip we took with our 2 teen kids. We had to park outside the walls but the walk wasn't too bad. We felt like we were staying in someone's home. The cottage was basic. No air conditioning but our beds were comfortable. It was a good central location.

Our historic town was built before cars werer existing. So the parking is outsides the wall. Only 2 minutes to walk to the hotel. Air con is not allowed in our historic building. We wish you nice holidays, warm wishes Marion

Sie haben fälschlicherweise beanstandet, wir hätten Ihnen parken berechnet. Wie Sie dann aber festgestellt haben, haben wir Ihnen die Hunde berechnet. Dies steht so in der Hotelbeschreibung und wurde Ihnen zusätzlich vorab mitgeteilt.Sie haben fälschlicherweise behauptet, wir würden schreiben, dass wir Klimaanlage hätten. Aber auch hier haben Sie festgestellt, dass Sie falsch liegen. In einem historischen Gebäude von 1778 das unter Denkmalschutz steht ist das nicht erlaubt.Wir sind immer offen für konstruktive Kritik. Allerdings ist es schade, dass Sie die Hotelbeschreibung falsch lesen und dafür unser Hotel schlecht bewerten.Herzliche Grüß Marion BeuglerYou mistakenly complained that we had charged you for parking. However, as you then discovered, we did charge you for the dogs. This is stated in the hotel description and was also communicated to you in advance.You falsely claimed that we wrote that we had air conditioning. But here too you have found that you are wrong. This is not allowed in a historic building from 1778 which is a listed building.We are always open to constructive criticism. However, it is a pity that you read the hotel description wrong and therefore rate our hotel badly.Kind regards Marion Beugler

Pros: - Convenient location - Beautiful hotel and room - Clean room and nice bathroom - There is an automated process to checkin/checkout, but typing in information (like address, etc...) on a screen is a bit tedious Cons: - Not much in terms of amenities by default in the room (Fridge, kettle, etc...) - The reception area was empty most of the time and you have to call to get service - Internet speed over wifi was very low (700Kbps) and it kept disconnecting P.S: Most of the hotels don't have elevators in this city. This hotel is no exception.

If it's available - book it! Delightful stay!
We stayed one night, and from smooth check-in to friendly check-out everything was terrific. Perfect location to enjoy the old town, especially later in the evening and early morning with out the day trip tourists. Make sure to allow time to enjoy the garden in back. A rare quiet respite in any European city, so peaceful. Room was clean, bright, spacious by European standards, same with bathroom. We arrived by train, easy walking distance if you travel light. Definitely recommend!

Charming Hotel in a beautiful Town.
The Boutiquehotel Goldene Rose is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It's near the famous Plonlein in the Altstadt, which makes it just steps from the access to the city walls. The rooms were nicely appointed, the staff was friendly and super helpful. Close to restaurants and attractions. And breakfast was delicious. Added bonus... Diamond the Hotel Dog will greet you at breakfast.

Right on the main street of Rothenburg ob Tauber. Only difficulty is the parking - but close by and fairly reasonable price - like 6 euros a day. Great hostess, wonderful breakfasts, quiet, super clean.

This was a very nice hotel right close to the medieval main gate of the lovely old town Rothenburg in Central Germany. It was located very convenient to start our walking tours around the town hall and all other historic sites. The rooms were spacious, clean and well decorated with rose patterns in the curtains, carpets, public areas and even toilets. All the servicing and reception staff were friendly, polite and helpful. In fact, we had been very late for check-in, which was required before 8PM, owing to severe traffic jam caused by road accident. Fortunately, we had received very sincere and heartfelt assurance from the staff through the telephone to calm us down on our way. We were most thankful to be able to access our rooms by the keys left at the reception upon our arrival almost an hour after the last check-in. In the next morning, we were also amazed by the beautifully decorated restaurant downstairs with very enjoyable food and drinks in the buffet breakfast included in our reservation. Although we had to park our cars outside the old town at a small charge, we could pull up to the hotel front door for loading our bags before leaving. Thank you again to all of you in the Boutiquehotel Goldene Rose Rothenburg !

The staff and location of the Goldene Rose hotel was excellent. My wife and I had a great 2 day stay and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable with all the right amenities. Breakfast was great with a ton of food choices. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel And their super friendly dog "Diamond" always greeted us when we arrived and departed

Over all we were very satisfied with our stay. The owner is very personable and the room was clean and the breakfast excellent. We had planned to come back and stay again at a future visit but were disappointed when an extra charge was not taken off our bill. There was a misunderstanding which we thought was resolved but unfortunately it wasn't and we will have to take up the issue with Expedia. Other than that we were satisfied. Expedia guests also need to know there is no lift and the steps are rather steep.

Perfect location and hostess Marion
Marion was so friendly and helpful. Great location to everything to see, one beginning spot for walking the walls is so close. The only reason the comfort score was lower was the hard mattress which is completely normal in Europe. Nice hot shower, breakfast had many choices. Marion was very informative and helpful with history and the town. The original Night watchman tour is a must.

A perfect hotel for a couple
Everything about our visit to the Boutiquehotel Goldene Rose was excellent! The staff were very friendly and spoke great English; the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable; and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There was even a friendly dog on site, too! For the hotel itself, the location was perfect for us: very close to the southern entrance to the old town and also close to a parking lot outside the walled area. Parking for 24 hours was only 5.50 Euro compared to over 15 euro if we'd opted to park inside the walls. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a variety of juices, coffee, tea, milk, and water for drinks; breads of various kinds with plenty of topping choices like jams and honey, eggs, meats, cheeses, cereals -- basically, something for everyone! We loved our stay and would definitely stay again! Another selling point was that this hotel was one of four, I believe, that allowed me to redeem a Hotels.com Rewards Night, so that helped save on overall cost.

Perfect location
The Goldene Rose is in a perfect location in Rothenburg. It is within the city walls and just one guard tower away from the city square. The hotel is clean and quaint and full of charm. The owner is so kind and friendly! (And speaks English very well). They have a friendly dog in the lobby to great you. We stayed in the guest house. It was a little drafty, but we cranked up the heat and put on some socks to keep warm. I wasn't thrilled that the bathroom was in the hallway separate from the room but it wasn't that terrible.The grounds are clean and pretty and it looks like the patio would be a lovely place in the spring. The breakfast was traditional German and really good! We would stay here again!

Rude manager no wifi in rooms
The reception lady (owner of the property i think) was very rude. When we enquired about the wifi not working she straight away said " its not my problem mine works" and then "its a free service offered so it doesn't matter that it doesn't work and if i don't like it i should buy the hotel and run it myself" With out this lady the property would be perfect. Great location nice and comfortable rooms. Just one very rude manager and no wifi in rooms.

Um unfreundlich zu sein hätte ich erst mal zu Wort kommen müssen. Leider kam ich nicht zu Wort und konnte Ihnen auch nichts erklären oder dem Problem auf den Grund gehen. Es ist richtig das unser WLAN funktioniert. Wir sind werde verantwortlich für Ihre Hardware noch Ihren Provider. Dass sie die anderen Gäste wegen Ihres Verhaltens ausgelacht haben, tut mir leid, steht aber nicht in meiner Macht. Des Weiteren waren die anderen Gäste entsetzt, dass Ihre Freundin Weihnachtsdeko kaputt gemacht hat ohne etwas an der Rezeption zu sagen oder sich zu entschuldigen. Sie haben gesagt, Sie haben selbst ein Hotel und wissen deswegen über alles Bescheid. Nur leider nicht wie man sich als Gast benimmt. Ich wünsche Ihnen bessere Gäste als Sie es sind. Nice hotel conveniently located near P1 and about 7 min walk to city center. Bed was ok. Water Pressure in the shower was awful. Room was clean and a good size. Basic continental breakfast provided.

We had two standard rooms here at this quaint hotel last September and enjoyed our 1-night stay. Easy to reach by car from the Spitaltor (gate) south end of town. Would stay again.

Great location -- bed configuration was small
Service was OK. The beds were small -- the images online were doubles in the twin/twin configuration, but the beds for me and my family members were traditional doubles (e.g. too small to share).

Obwohl wir nur 11 Zimmer haben gibt es bei uns 4 verschiedene Betttypen: französisches Bett, Doppelbett, Twin Bett und Himmelbett. Wünsche werden gerne, falls möglich und bei Reservierung geäußert nach Möglichkeit berücksichtigt. Herzliche Grüße Marion Beugler & Rosenteam

Wonderful
My cousin and I both got rooms at this charming small hotel. It's behind the walls of the medival town of Rothenburg, with no shortage of resturants and beer seconds away. I'm not that big on reviews or recommendations, but this hotel felt like I was back at my parents house with a delicious Easter breakfast waiting for me!!

Nice hotel, close to main Plaza.
Staff was very friendly. Hotel is clean and a great spot to explore Rothenburg without noise of complete plaza.
