“Georgeouse hotel, awsome location, more than expected”
We reserved this hotel because of the price, the cheapest in rome without being a hostel, for our honeymoon. What can i say? Unbelievable! Not only is just across the street from the vatican museum (what saved us a lot of time) but it's also close to the metro station and easy to reach from almost any part of rome, including the airport. The place itself is beautifull, a three room boutique hotel placed in an old building, flaulessly reneved. Amenities are totally modern and the furniture is brand new, while it keeps the souroundings spirit. It is trully romantic! One only bad thing, our room was the only one with the "private" bathroom not in suite, but as the other two rooms did have their private insuit bathrooms we had no problems. Also the lift is a little bit small, but it suits two passengers and a large suitcase fine. The owner even drove us to the airport for the same rate than the hour long trip by train, but much more confortable. The hotel includes free wireless internet (yet no pc on site, bring your own laptop) and breakfast. We just LOVED it!
“Fab accommodation in this great Rome location”
How to start - a fab break with my daughter to Rome for the half term holiday. The Bed and Breakfast was located right by the Vatican city and was not only a great location but a lovely place to stay. Quiet location with a comfortable bed and lovely facilities. A simple breakfast was made all the better for a fantastic coffee machine to perk you up for a days sight seeing. Easy walking distance to Ottaviano Metro and close to a bus terminus as well as the buses from St Peters square. Massimo was there to greet us and although his english is limited but Riccardo arrived shortly afterwards and showed us where the sights were and where to avoid - all around the Termini Station basically. Lots of highlights to this trip - the Old Bridge for ice cream literally outside the appartment block - the best ice cream ever always a queue but well worth the wait. The creperie by the ice cream shop was great for a quick lunch. Riccardo recommended a restaurant called L'Isola della Pizza on Via Scippione - lovely pizzas, pasta and ambience. The house wine both red and white were excellent. Trastevere is a great location for food as well - Ivo was a really buzzing restaurant even on a Wednesday night!!. We also ate at Il Cotobri near the Otovianno station. Book tickets for the vatican on their website to save you money and the queue - go early morning. Again get your tickets for the Colessuem from the Forum as the ticket last 2 days and its much quicker to get them. Def go back
“Brilliant and different little B&B”
The little gem was amazing both my wife and I had a wonderful time in Rome and this hotel was a great base for all our adventures.
“Romantic Vatican B&B Review”
Situated in a lovely area that was easy accessible to all surrounding areas. the B&B itself was lovely although felt disappointed with the breakfast, mainly a few croissants. For the breakfast you had to make sure you got up early enough or other guests were less inclined to leave you food. all facilities were clean, bed was reasonably comfortable (except it was quite squeaky). The Staff was lovely however there was a language barrier between us, limited english speaking, so make sure you carry a translation book. The Shuttle Service , airport shuttle 17761, that was recommended to use by expedia finally got us to our B&B after an hour wait at the airport. the only consolation to this was the driver who thoughtfully helped us get into the building. However, as in instructed on the voucher we were to contact 24hrs before pick-up for return for confirmation but we were given no number or website to get in contact with the shuttle service, this then meant we had to pay an extra €30 for the concierge to the B&B to drive us to the airport (regular taxi fare from rome to airport is €55 euros approx.). Apart from that had a fantastic time and would recommend the Insalata Ricca around the corner from the hotel for a great meal that is reasonably priced!
“Location helped”
Good location, not too far from the centre, walking distance, and near a bus terminal. The 81 gets you into town and passed the Colosseum, but expect a walk home. A few cafes nearby, the best value was left out the main door then left again, very close. The bed and breakfast facilities were very basic, though clean. Our room was a bit small, the wardrobe door went over the bedside table and you had to lean right as you passed the huge TV on the wall at the end of the bed. Our en suite bathroom was across the communal breakfast room, but was clean and modern, if a little poky. Breakfast was DIY, bread and croissants in packets, left in your room most days, with some extras in the communal area, corn flakes, coffee, juice, cheese slices, ham and green/camomile tea. If you enjoy a cuppa, take your own bags! We were told on the 3rd day that we would be moved to another room on the 4th day, the actual room we should have had from the start, in time for our last night. Very annoying. This en suite was actually in the room and a smidge smaller, if possible. The custodian was very helpful and had a little english but coped with us. He looked after our things on our last day while we soaked up the Sistene Chapel ceiling, which was just round the corner. He made sure we were picked up on time and waved us off, bless. A decent place to stay for central Rome and sightseeing but if you enjoy your breakfasts, fill the fridge from a supermarket or take a mortgage for the cafes.
