“Very well located, extremely clean. Great place for the family.”
Perfect location to visit the Vatican (5 min. to the Museum and 10 min. walk) to Basilica. Also, short distance from the metro (3 min. walk). Trionfale market has everything you need food wise and numerous restaurants close by. Would definitely return. Extremely clean.
“Residence Candia, Rome”
Residence Candia is great if (like us) you want somewhere you can go back to for an afternoon relax, a cold beer or glass of wine at supermarket prices and a bite to eat that will not break the bank, as most rooms/apartments have a small kitchen corner and a fridge with ice box. (Tip -take a small travel kettle and travel plug. Although the kitchen is well equiped with most items there is no kettle provided. We always take ours unless we know one is provided) We were in Apartment 106 (mid range) which has a lounge with small kitchen corner, a small balcony with table and chairs (although this may be shared with an adjacent room which has access) and a really well equipped bathroom. Recently refurbished, we were only the third guests in this apartment, which has aircon and sat TV (CNN, Fox & English Eurosport). Mirrors everywhere! A bit quirky on the ceiling over the bed but it does give an impression of space and light). Three small supermarkets within a few minutes walk, a good restaurant round the corner and a great Gelateria closeby (half the price of central Rome). Not too close to the sights although within a short walk of the Vatican Museum and a little longer to St Peters. Metro station about 500m away, which gets you to with walking distance of nearly all the main tourist sights. Certainly worth considering.
“Hotel tranquille, bien situé et indépant”
Nous avons été très bien accueillidans cet hotel très bien tenu où nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous . En France il serait classé dans les "appart hotel" : kitchinette tout équipée dans la chambre. Parfait pour un séjour de plusieurs jours. Le quartier est calme. Nous aurions souhaité en plus que la wifi soit disponible dans tout l'hôtel.
“Perfect Location for the Vatican”
This hotel was absolutely amazing from check in to check out. The staff was more than friendly and helped us to know where to go and what restaurants were truly authentic Italian. We stayed in an apartment style room with a queen bed on the bottom and twin bunk on top. There was also a daybead in the kitchen area. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook and eat with (dishes-pots-etc). The stay was perfect thanks to this hotel. We felt at home for our 5 day stay. Also, the back side of the hotel is the Vatican so if you want to be extremely close without actually being on what feels like a really touristy street, this is perfect. There´s a supermarket one block away, and gelato! Would stay here every time that I go to Rome.
“Wonderful staff and really comfortable hotel”
My husband and I stayed at the Residence Candia Nov 1st-5th. We stayed in a Penthouse room which had a view of St Peters from the little balcony. Rooms were really comfortable. They are not huge but have everything you need. Rooms were cleaned every day. There was plenty of towels and even though the info states that the towels are changed every 4 days ours were done after 2 days. The kitchenette was really useful after a long day walking all over Rome - if we did not feel like going out to eat we cooked for ourselves. There are 3 supermarkets and a huge indoor market within a short distance. We found all of the staff at Residence Candia to be really helpful and friendly and there is always someone at the desk to help. In fact they went out of their way to be helpful. The location was great and we walked everywhere. My tip for a successful visit to Rome is to book your Vatican and Coliseum tickets in advance via the Vatican and Coliseum websites. This will save hours of queueing and I was so glad I did this!
“Résidence parfaite pour découvrir Rome”
La résidence Candia est très bien située à deux pas des musées du Vatican. Deux stations de métro sont à proximité. Elle vient d'être rénovée : tout est parfait. Le studio que nous avions avait une superbe terrasse, la cuisine est équipée pour cuisiner. La propreté est irréprochable : le ménage est fait tous les jours et le linge est changé tous les jours. L'accueil est très sympathique.
“Would return”
The hotel was clean and well cared for. As in most hotels in Rome the room was small but adequate. It had a small kitchen which was helpful and a small elevator. There was a delightful rooftop garden, which I'm sure must be used a lot in warmer weather. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. The location was fine, just a few blocks from the entrance to the Vatican museum. There were a couple of small grocery stores and a bakery nearby which was helpful since we had breakfast in our room every morning. The beds were typical of Rome and were very comfortable. Daily maid service was provided. My only complaint was that the size of the shower was small and a large person would have to squeeze into it.
“Above and Beyond....”
We had a wonderful time in Rome and it was made all the more pleasurable by the staff at Residence Candia. They went above and beyond to make our stay so great. I had reserved two rooms for the six of us and they gave us a three-bedroom apartment with two baths and a kitchen at no extra charge. They were instrumental in obtaining tickets to the Midnight Mass at the Vatican on Christmas Eve, suggesting good restaurants, giving directions to the Metro, bus, and places to shop. When we arrived, the heat in our apt. was not on and within minutes, the maintenance crew had the heat up and running. Everything was spotless and cleaned every day. We would definitely stay there again, AND they are bilingual, which was a huge plus for these Americans who don't speak Italian, but learned a little along the way!

“RESIDENCE CANDIA < EXCELLENT!”
