“Great hidden gem”
We stayed at Relais6 for 5 nights in October 2009 and we had the most amazing experience. The hotel has been competely refurbished and only opened a few months ago. It is small boutique hotel, with a lot of character, and colonial style charm. The room was very spacious, very clean, super confortable bed and good modern bathroom, plus a little balcony, large ceiling to floor window. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there were some great local places nearby. Breakfast was good, served in a nice room with views to the back garden. The lounge of the hotel, was beautiful. Tastefully decorated. The hotel is located 10 -15 min bus ride from the city centre. Buses are frequent and stop near the hotel. Night buses also serve this area, and we found it very easy to use the network - also nice to go back to a quiet area after spending the day in busy Rome. The service was outstanding. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. The guy serving the breakfast during the weekdays was very attentive, made great coffee, and ran the place so smothly you would not even notice he was there but everythig was set up to perfection. We had an amazing time, and will definetely come back to Relais6 when we decide to visit Rome again.
“Superb boutique hotel!”
Stylish-looking small hotel, indoors and out, and big on personal, friendly service. The entire hotel was spotless, the decor just gorgeous - marble floors, comfy sofas, lovely courtyard for al fresco dining. Breakfast was a generous continental buffet with a lot of tasty food on offer. The staff were very polite and bent over backwards to help with anything required - taxis, maps, recommending sites to visit, and helping one's Italian! We only stayed for four nights, but the hotel and the staff will remain in our memories for a long time. The only one small niggle we had was that it may be only a couple of kilometres from the heart of Rome and looks, on the map, within easy walking distance from the centre, it actually took over an hour to walk into the centre due to the time it took to cross the seemingly chaotic road network without making contact with cars/scooters which always seem to have right of way over perdestrians. We found it easier to taxi to Piazza della Republicca (E7-10, one way) and begin our excursions from there. We didn't find a great deal of restaurants in the immediate area, and again, taxied to the Piazza and ate in that area. But, that wouldn't put us off staying at Relais 6 again - it was just lovely!
“Great place to go!”
I highly recommend it even to the most experienced travellers. Good breakfast, pleasant atmosphere. A place for connoiseurs and not snobs!
“does what it says on the tin”
Really enjoyed this trip. 1 adult and 1 child aged 10. Hotel was perfect for our needs. Nice and quiet. Adequate breakfast (continental style - not fry ups). Room was perfectly adequate with a clean en suite. I requested twin beds and that is what we got. Hotel staff were very friendly, keen to give advice and very very courteous. At the end of the day Rome is an amazing city so our days were spent away. After breakfast we left and did not return till 9pm ish. For me there was no point spending loads on 5 stars as we would not have used the facilities on offer. This hotel was very competitively priced. My only reservation before booking was the location as it is just outside of the main tourist areas (just off the tourist map). In fact this worked out better for us. Piazza Bologna is a 5min walk and metro is there. Arriving from Airport we took the slow train to Tiburtina. Even Tiburtina is no more than a pleasant 20min walk. Location is a very quiet, sleepy residential area full of fantastic looking roman villas (old money). You can walk to the centre in 20min. We really liked being off the hustle and bustle at bed time. Often walked it and at times cabbed it back for not more than 10e. Recommend this place to anyone.
“Hidden Gem!”
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! It is located on a quiet street and nearby shopping and dining are a 5 minute walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, gorgeous and spacious! The breakfast buffet is wonderful. The only downside is the nearest metro is about a 10-15 minute walk away. It was a wonderful place to come back to and relax after a day of sightseeing!
“good value for money”
Good hotel. Nice room with a woderful terrace. Though you should know that it is not close to the major tourist attractions, you should use a bus to get to the center. Though it is very nice, cosy and green district of Rome. Great feeling when you are back to the hotel after a croweded streets.
“Belissimo!”
This hotel is located in a quiet and very posh residential area of Rome. Nothing is really in walking distance so you will have to use the bus system. I recommend the penthouse suit with the rooftop terrace, well worth the view and money. It was nice to relax up there with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
“a perfect choice for a hotel in italy :)”
this hotel is perfect, friendly English speaking staff, that are always willing to help. the hotel its self is super clean, modern, well designed, and a joy to come back to after a days site seeing. a well positioned hotel, about 3 miles from Romes center. with good bus and transport links. plus within walking distance from parks/art galleries/and even a mile from a zoo. this was my first trip to Italy, and was very impressed. i would recommend this hotel to all, and when i return to Italy will defiantly book again :)
