“Oasis of Calm in Rome”
10 minutes by bus from the Piazza della Republica, the Principe Torlonia was a superb hotel for a visit to Rome. The garden room was luxurious. Only two criticisms, no restaurant for the evening, you need to return to the city, and the bar was pricey, compensated by the friendly service and ambiance
“Very lovely hotel in quiet residential neighborhood”
This hotel was very attractive with nice clean rooms and spacious showers (by european standards, at least). The breakfast was hot and tasty, served on an attractive enclosed patio. The only complaint I could make is the location - this hotel is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the Bologna metro station north of most major sites. Although this means that you find yourself in a quiet and peaceful part of town, it can be a bit challenging to locate the hotel if you are arriving via public transportation. The hotel staff is extremely helpful in providing directions and assistance though, so the location should not cause excessive concern.
“distance from town worth it”
very well appionted rooms. super helpful staff. walking to the major sites (:20 min from the termini) was a bit of a distance. though the metro stop was only 5 min walk. the luxury atmosphere of the room was well worth the extra distance after long days amidst the insanity that is room.
“A quiet, wonderful haven in Rome”
A great find and one we recommend to anyone looking for a well appointed, very friendly, quiet hotel in a lovely suburb of Rome and only 10 minutes to the centre on the metro. The rooms were exremely comfortable, great showers and the staff were helpful and friendly at all times. The rear garden and roof terrace are wonderful spots for an undisturbed late night drink. A real treat! It will be even better when they add the planned restuarant.
“tres bon hotel”
calme et propre, à proximité métro et bus.
“quiet comfort”
The hotel was located within a 3 minute cab ride to anywhere in Rome ,the cab was summoned by the hotel staff within 2 minuets of a call.Rooms were very nice, I would say above American standards. Big flat screen TV with 500 channels very comfortable beds, well air conditioned and very nice bathroom.Bar and breakfast pourch was a very nice touch.I would stay again and recommend to fellow travlers
“Seven Nights”
The danger in writing a well-deserved, glowing review of the Prime Hotel Principe Torlonia is that too many people will discover it and it will not be available when we want to return! This hotel is a gem nestled among an up-scale neighborhood outside the Historic Center of Rome. While that may not appeal to some, the Bologna Metro B line is a few short blocks away and the distance from the tourist circuit gives the willing traveler a taste of daily Roman life. The restaurants in the area were all outstanding and the nearby supermarket made picking up picnic supplies easy. The staff were all warm and friendly and Ramona, in particular, went out of her way to arrange for tables at restaurants during the hit and miss Christmas holiday. We are particularly grateful for her assistance with our trip. If you want to be in the middle of the Historic Center of Rome near all the tourist spots and everything that goes along with them, this is not the place for you. If you are able to navigate yourself on the public transportation system (or have a rental car or pockets full of cab fare) and want a quiet place to start and end your day in Rome, give this hotel serious consideration. You will not be disappointed.
“Pretty little palace”
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this dear little hotel was. It was priced well considering Rome is expensive, especially the closer to central Rome you are. It was a considerable walk to go to all of the historic sights but you can just take the metro or cab it back. Our room was small but I am not holding it against the hotel as that is the norm for older buildings. I would stay here again.
“So cozy and friendly!”
We really enjoyed our stay...felt like a home away from home! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The recommendation of a local restaurant for dinner was also great. Staff offered to assist by calling cabs and giving instructions to the drivers in Italian, very helpful.
“lovely place to stay”
very polite staff, very clean rooms, fresh towels every day, nice relaxing atmospher.all in all will definatly go there again.
