Hotel Maryelen Rome

"Close to Termini Station"
Hotel Maryelen was a great place to stay in terms of location - close to Termini Station, and walking distance of most attractions in Rome (The Roman Forum, Colosseum). I chose to walk everywhere, and the only place that I took the metro was to the Vatican. The rooms are very small (I stayed in a single room by myself), and so was the toilet, but you hardly need to stay in your hotel room when you have the whole of Rome to explore! The hotel was kind enough to give me a map, highlighting most of Rome's tourist attractions, and to give me an umbrella when it started to rain. They will also hold your baggage if your flight or train is well after check out time. My bed was a little harder than what I was used to, and breakfast is your typical Italian style breakfast - usually some cured meat, cheese, bread, and a sweet pastry, as well as a cup of coffee. The walls are also a little thin, so you can hear your neighbours going to the bathroom sometimes, and you can hear people outside your corridor. However, the staff are friendly, and always welcoming.

Brilliant hotel just what were looking for. Quiet, beautiful, very helpful staff, close enough to Rome to visit but far enough out to be peaceful.

"Great hotel, close to everything"
I booked this hotel super last minute and was pleasantly surprised at the value, the location and size of the rooms. Big enough for 3 people, super clean and located right on Via Nazionale - a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and Trevi. Breakfast was was not included, it comes at cost and it was kind of blah. Other than the breakfast - the hotel is perfect for a few days in Rome.

"THE Waldorf Astoria, Rome"
Checked out a day early and didn't have anyone inquire as to why. Also, they lost an airport pillow, no biggy though. BY FAR the nicest hotel my wife and I have stayed at bar none. Great food, great staff/service, great pool. If you haven't stayed at the Waldorf before (NYC etc) be prepared to pay 9€ for a fanta or 36€ for a margarita pizza. Compared to most restaurants where they charge 8€ for the pizza and 3€ for the fanta. Not at all a detriment but could catch some people off guard if you didn't do your research.

"Great place for short term rest"
Comparing with other places Bel Ami B&B had a good review plus the night rate was within our budget so I decided to book for 4 days and 3 nights. We were greeted by a lovely lady and her poodle. The stay has both pros and cons: -B&B is right next door to San Giovanni Church. However, depends upon the room if you are able to see the view of the church or not (like in the picture). Room 4 (where we were staying) the view was totally blocked by another building -It's located within 5 mins walking distance of San Giovanni Metro & San Giovanni Bus station. Located 3 stops from Termini station (metro) -It's near a hospital or some sort therefore will hear ambulance siren going off every now and then -There's cafes/convenience/clothes/markets stores couple of walks away -The room was spacious with a wardrobe (with hanger), fridge, small table & chairs, small TV and also provided with towels (1 each) -the room was cleaned everyday, bed was made neatly and bins cleared. However, was really disappointed that they do not change the towels -the floors there are made of stone/marbles? so don't forget to take a pair of slippers -The sockets are different (2 holes) but you can ask for power plug adapter -we had booked for a double bed but we ended up with 2 single beds joined together (which was fine) but just be aware you might end up sleeping in the cracks where the two mattress meets -For breakfast we received espresso, juice & packaged croissant/bread, little disappointing

"Great, spacious apartment with POOL"
My girlfriend and I chose this apartment to have the convenience of a kitchen and a pool (seeing as our visit was at the end of June) and it appeared good value. The apartment was a fantastic size, with spacious balcony and bathroom and kitchen were very clean and good quality appliances. The hotel itself had no flaws and we couldn't have been happier. The only issue is that you feel a little out of town... BUT the train station is right on your doorstep. The "tobachi" next door sells train + metro tickets at €1.50 and it takes about 15 mins to pop up at most central sites. Alternatively, a bus takes you straight to Vatican (although we never actually took this). Rest assured, we had a couple of later nights in the city after dinner and a taxi home was around €15. Finally, one of the best meals we had was actually in the restaurant right next door to the hotel which we went to after a particularly long touristy day! Would recommend this apartment if you want somewhere to relax as well as do site seeing. Perhaps better for those staying a week rather than weekend getaway.

"Rental apartment in the suburbs"
This place is 5 metro stops from the Colloseum and about 7 from the central train station. It is basically a rented apartment of 3 rooms - you rent one of the rooms, which includes a bedroom 'space' and kitchenette area plus bathroom. The good part is that you get a taste of suburban life but it is a metro ride away from the tourist attractions (€1.50 / 20mins each time).

"Great family stay in Rome"
Great big clean swimming pool. Friendly staff who always answered queries accurately. We were lucky to have a huge terrace included at no extra cost - as we travelled as a family of four it was nice to have the extra space. The first day we walked down into Rome but with the temp at 36C for the following days we caught the buses in and back. The reception staff always helped us with the route generously giving their time. None of us really wanted to come home!
