"Close to Termini Station"
Hotel Maryelen was a great place to stay in terms of location - close to Termini Station, and walking distance of most attractions in Rome (The Roman Forum, Colosseum). I chose to walk everywhere, and the only place that I took the metro was to the Vatican. The rooms are very small (I stayed in a single room by myself), and so was the toilet, but you hardly need to stay in your hotel room when you have the whole of Rome to explore! The hotel was kind enough to give me a map, highlighting most of Rome's tourist attractions, and to give me an umbrella when it started to rain. They will also hold your baggage if your flight or train is well after check out time. My bed was a little harder than what I was used to, and breakfast is your typical Italian style breakfast - usually some cured meat, cheese, bread, and a sweet pastry, as well as a cup of coffee. The walls are also a little thin, so you can hear your neighbours going to the bathroom sometimes, and you can hear people outside your corridor. However, the staff are friendly, and always welcoming.

"Lovely hotel, really beautiful. "
Great staff. Very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay special. Expensive to eat there. Quiet hotel, looks like a museum, really beautiful. Lovely pool in nice grounds, which never gets too busy. You can walk into Frascati, bit there is a mini bus which takes you into town and back at set times. Would recommend.

"Very nice get away !!! "
We got a great rate for the room! It is in a perfect location but of you decide not to leave the hotel forests and drinks you will spend a ton of $$!!! There are restaurants and beautiful places right outside of the hotel if you are willing you walk a little...10 - 15 mins. This hotel is a long way from tourist destinations but in some ways that is a good thing!

"Great hotel, close to everything"
I booked this hotel super last minute and was pleasantly surprised at the value, the location and size of the rooms. Big enough for 3 people, super clean and located right on Via Nazionale - a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and Trevi. Breakfast was was not included, it comes at cost and it was kind of blah. Other than the breakfast - the hotel is perfect for a few days in Rome.

"Great place for short term rest"
Comparing with other places Bel Ami B&B had a good review plus the night rate was within our budget so I decided to book for 4 days and 3 nights. We were greeted by a lovely lady and her poodle. The stay has both pros and cons: -B&B is right next door to San Giovanni Church. However, depends upon the room if you are able to see the view of the church or not (like in the picture). Room 4 (where we were staying) the view was totally blocked by another building -It's located within 5 mins walking distance of San Giovanni Metro & San Giovanni Bus station. Located 3 stops from Termini station (metro) -It's near a hospital or some sort therefore will hear ambulance siren going off every now and then -There's cafes/convenience/clothes/markets stores couple of walks away -The room was spacious with a wardrobe (with hanger), fridge, small table & chairs, small TV and also provided with towels (1 each) -the room was cleaned everyday, bed was made neatly and bins cleared. However, was really disappointed that they do not change the towels -the floors there are made of stone/marbles? so don't forget to take a pair of slippers -The sockets are different (2 holes) but you can ask for power plug adapter -we had booked for a double bed but we ended up with 2 single beds joined together (which was fine) but just be aware you might end up sleeping in the cracks where the two mattress meets -For breakfast we received espresso, juice & packaged croissant/bread, little disappointing

"short trip to rome"
my husband and i stayed at the metropole in june. it is convenient for the train station which was why we chose it. it is close enough to the centre for everything to be walkable but there is plenty of available transport if needed. the staff were friendly. the hotel was clean and comfortable. a breakfast buffet is available and there is a good selection of hot and cold food. it caters for all tastes, I'm sure everyone could find something that they like to eat. we were in rome for 4 days and saw most things of interest, at least all that we wanted to see. please be aware that at present the trevi fountain in under renovation so there's not much to see. we took the tours available to buy on the street for the colosseum and the vatican and can recommend people to do some visits that way. you learn more history and the guides were very good.

"Good Location."
We booked 2 x Double rooms and received 2 x Twin. But they did convert the next day. We booked a Smoking room and was told they were not notified, despite me showing them the confirmation. They did however let me smoke on the Balcony. Breakfast choice is very limited.

"Central to train and city"
Hotel is quite nice with big rooms although it is getting old. We stayed two nights but not consecutively as we had a tour inbetween. The first day the staff member wasn't that friendly and we could to have the breakfast as we had a tour booked with a 7am pickup and the breakfast didn't start until 7am - they weren't interested in helping us in any way. On the second night the staff member was lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was really nice out in the courtyard. Great location walkable to the Trevi fountain and lots of restaurants nearby.

"Location, Location, Location "
This was a repeat visit for our 4 person group and we could not be more pleased. Located a short 10 minute walk from the Vatican, it's a super location if your trip will include St. Peter's and the Vatican. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the ruins of Rome will require a cab ride of about 10-15 minutes dependding on traffic. I don't recommend your own car when staying here as the traffic and parking are tough at best. The hotel itself has a/c. Rooms are not luxurious but very adequate. Hotel offers FREE pickup from Fiumicino Airport but there is a charge for the return.

"Nice staff and hotel is ok for short stay. "
No coffee of tea making facilities. The room was spacious, the towels and bed linen good quality, the staff were lovely. However during our stay on 2 mornings we were woken up by drilling, at 7:45 :-/ I really wanted a late sleep as I'm a new mum and came away for a break from sleepless nights and early wake up calls. Also on our last night we requested a wake up call as we needed to be at the airport for 4 am, we awoke 15 minutes before having to leave, they had forgotten to give us our wake up call :-/
