“Happy with our choice”
I did a lot of research before we visited Rome, we were on a budget and found that Osimar Hotel is good value and one of the nearest to a metro station with in our price range. It takes 10-15 minutes walk to get to the metro but there is a bus which we took a couple of time just around the corner (this takes a couple of minutes). I have read lots of negative reviews about the hotel, some stating that the photos look nothing like the real thing- these are completly untrue, the photos look as the hotel does today. If anything the photos do not do the hotel justice, it looks a bit old fasioned but actually feels very modern when you are there. Their use of very dark furniture everywhere gives the rooms a slighly gloomy feeling but it didnt put us off. The hotel was exceptionally clean, our bed was made each morning. Breakfast was excellent, again I have read some negative reviews but we enjoyed it. Drinks- tea, coffee (many varieties), juice, milk and water. Food- cerals, cheese, ham salami, beautiful fresh bread rolls, a choice of spreads (nutella, honey). Staff were very helpful in telling us where to eat locally and the best way to get to certain places- they also provide you with a map which we found very useful through out our stay. Overall we would recommend this hotel, if you dont mind a short walk and you expect cleanliness along with a helpful service but do not expect a full English breakfast!
“nice rooms and professional staff, not so good breakfast”
The rooms and the hotel is well maintained. The rooms are small and comfortable, bang for buck. The staff is very processional and helpful. The break fast does not have good options and have to be improved.
“Very good trip to Rome”
The hotel was perfectly fine-clean, with tv and good sized rooms and bathroom. Good breakfast and nice patio area outside to eat too. Located in a good area too with cheap restaurants around if you want. Not too bad t get into the centre. 10 minute walk to Piazza Bologna subway and only about 7 minutes to get to the centre. We were a party of 5, two seniors, and a little 2 year old. The hotel was fine for all and on the last day we didn't have to check out until 12 midday and could leave all luggage until we left at 5pm. Staff all multilingual. Would recommend the Japanese restaurant just around the corner (I know not Italian but nice to have a break from pasta) and the supermarket a couple of blocks up was very useful.
“Osimar Hôtel dans le nord de Rome: à 15 min du métro”
L'hôtel est sympathique, le personnel plutôt aimable et la chambre confortable. Néanmoins il est un peu éloigné du centre, à 15 minutes du métro Bologna, mais le bus 61 qui mène au centre passe à 5 minutes. Le quartier n'est pas très joli mais pour le prix qu'on a payé c'était très bien.
“great value”
nice hotel , very good value, in suburban residential area closejust two or three metro stops from the centre. we had a problem with the toilet flush which kept falling apart. breakfast was pretty basic. but in general would highly recommend the hotel for value and nice area.
“HOTEL OSIMAR - Rome”
“Very helpful staff”
The staff was very helpful in guiding us to transportations options, showing us the stops for the metro and bus lines,,,writing the numbers down for the bus and it was thoughtful that they let me use their computer to get a message out and agreed to take messages for me
“This was our first visit to Roma, so did not know where to book. Good value.”
Its more of a Bed and Breakfast than hotel. Staff very helpful, breakfast satisfactory. Good bus routes to centre as about 5km out of main centre. Nice cheaper resturant around the area far better than paying expensive over priced in the centre.
“Not too bad, not too great. Fair.”
I brought my mom and fiance, along with another friend and his wife to this hotel. We travelled from Vicenza via the autostrada to Rome, which is about 5 hours. The traffic as insane and this hotel has very little parking.. so don't drive! It is reasonably close to the metro, if you don't mind walking about 20-30 minutes and are capable of reading a map. I'm sure you can find better, and closer to the metro, or bus line. This one seemed out of the way in the ghetto a bit. Doesn't usually worry me, but travelling with a few new to Europe.. probably not the best option. The price was reasonable for 2 nights, and the beds are a problem as they push 2 full sized to make one 'queen' size. But besides that, the room was comfortable for the little time we spent in it, and the staff spoke english and are polite. The breakfast was every morning and is included, so they serve cold cuts, muffins, and croissants with nutella. Along with cafe and other drinks, in a section off from the front desk. They do make you leave your key at the desk when you head into the city, which is kind of nice because it prevents you from losing it. At all accounts, it was fair and easy.
“hard to find, out of the way,”
helpful and friendly staff, nice little patio area out side, in a residential neighborhood, short walk to bus and metro stop, but a little hard to find
