The Hotel St. Angelo is located just outside the major tourist area, and it's a simple walk accross the bridge to being explorring Rome. It is 15 minutes from the Vatican, 10 minutes from Spanish steps, etc. and has great availability of a few grocery stores within a few blocks, numerous places to eat and drink. Room size was good, bathroom a little bigger than a cruise ship, but plenty of hot water. I will book this hotel again when in Rome.

“Great Place for the price”

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Sant Angelo for a few days over our Christmas break. Quite simply we were pleasantly surprised. We planned our trip on a pretty tight budget. This hotel was just as nice as our four star hotel in Barcelona and about half the cost. The room was fairly large, warm (unlike some of the others we stayed in on this trip), and centrally located. It had kind of a funky layout but was a great stay. The location was perfect. Everything was close. Walking distance to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, The Vatican.....and the rest. A short walk to the metro and and easy ride to ancient Rome. Overall this was a great place to stay and would stay here again in a second.

“Great hotel”

Checked in and was greeted with a well informed guide of what to see along with a complimentry map. Bags were taken to our room, whilst we went exploring. Room was cleaned immaculately every day, and the location really could not have been better.

“Un hôtel abordable et adorable!”

J'ai séjourné sept nuits dans cet hôtel, peu après les fêtes de Pâques 2012. J'avoue avoir eu un peu peur suite aux nombreux commentaires négatifs trouvés sur le Net datant des mois précédents. En fait l'hôtel a été rénové il y a peu de temps, c'est donc un bâtiment tout beau tout propre qui s'est présenté à moi! Il faut savoir que l'hôtel est partagé entre deux bâtiments. Je ne peux parler de la dépendance (un peu plus loin dans la rue apparemment), mais je vous conseille de séjourner dans le bâtiment principal, surtout si vous souhaitez prendre le petit-déjeuner à l'hôtel. Le petit-déjeuner, parlons-en: complet et très varié, il était délicieux et proposait un choix capable de satisfaire les amateurs de sucreries (pâtisseries succulentes), les fanatiques du petit-déjeuner à l'anglaise (bacon, oeufs brouillés et toasts au rendez-vous), ainsi que les amoureux de l'Italie (mozzarella et mortadelle à 8h du mat', j'avoue, ça change!). De plus les personnes qui servaient étaient toujours souriantes et très serviables. Du côté des chambres, elles semblent elles aussi rénovées depuis peu: il y avait d'accueil quelques traces de peinture séchée sur les rideaux. En dehors de ce petit détail, rien à dire, tout était propre et bien entretenu. La salle de bains est assez petite mais on n'y passe pas sa vie. Les matelas sont plutôt durs, sachez-le. Bref, un petit hôtel très sympathique, idéal pour une découverte de Rome sans se prendre la tête!

“Great Stay”

If you want a hotel close to the Vatican (10 min walk & just as close as the metro stop for the Vatican) and reasonably priced, this is it. Carlo was wonderful checked us in, gave us a great map of the city and marked places to eat in the hotel area and also a few other locations. Very good breakfast available. Can walk everywhere from there or public transportation is close - bus stop is 3 blocks away or metro is 7-10 min walk. Great location - I would go back.

“Loved it!”

We had a great experience here! The hotel was just minutes away from Vatican City and was near Piazza Cavour, where we could catch cabs at any time of the day / night. The room was clean and extremely comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. They even offered to watch our bags for over 12 hours while we wandered around the city. Having lived in Rome about two years ago, I know the city well. Not all hotels are like this one.
