“Lucarno - Piazza del Popolo”
Very nice hotel, clean, with a very good position to discover Rome on foot. We stayed in the new building and the room was very nice: big, clean, comfortable. Breakfast is good as well. I strongly recommend this hotel for a week-end in Rome.
“OUTSTANDING!”
OUTSTANDING!
“un accueil parfait”
Un accueil chaleureux et une tres grande disponibilité. Très bien situé, à proximité des bus pour le centre ville et la zone archéologique et à côté du métro pour le vatican et la gare Termini.
“movie set perfect”
The Locarno provided exactly the kind of experience we were looking for in Rome- a little bit old world charm, hip but not too hip, definitely European in the best sense. Rooms are spare and clean. Due to an internet error we booked a room in the already fully booked hotel but they graciously accomodated us. The lovely courtyard and sitting room were a perfect place to end the day with a glass of prosecco. Loved it.
“Fanatastic Hotel - would definately return”
Lovely laid back hotel during the day and changes to a very "trendy nite spot" at night - just loved it. We had Room 605 which was great. This hotel is completely different to anything we have stayed in ..it has it's own character steeped in history Don't stay here if your'e used to the "run of the mill" hotels like Holiday Inns, Hiltons, Crown Plazas etcc. This is nothing like them Can't wait to go back
“Very good hotel and location”
Very good hotel location, good breakfast, good service. If we are in Rome, will try to stay in this hotel)
“An Authentic Stay - Awesome old art deco style with amazing decor!”
An authentic old hotel kept in the most wonderful condition with the all the comfort of new amenities! Romantic and comfortable candle-lit courtyard bar which attracted just as many locals as travellers. Fantastic fresh free buffet breakfast, delicious 3 course fixed price lunch and tasty free dinner-time tapas with the purchase of the hotel's original and creative cocktails.
“When in Rome...Hotel Locarno!”
i loved this hotel. great location near the piazza del popolo. we walked or took the metro (about 4 blocks away) to all the sights (except for the catacombs for which we took the archeobus). the hotel was decorated in the art deco style and had a wonderful cage elevator in the center. it was nice to have a roof top garden. the breakfast had breads, eggs, yogurt, fruit, cheese, bacon, juice and coffee or selection of teas and champagne with tables in the courtyard outdoors (under a removable canopy) or indoors in an adjacent room. rooms were small, european style, with a double bed, small side tables, dresser and closet with a safe and the shower in the bathroom was small but worked well. i thought the bed was very good-on the hard side but i liked it. the lightning in the room was too dim. the hotel may have changed it we had asked. there was a TV (with 3 or 4 3 english channels)and free Wi-Fi in our room( they had a single computer with WiFi available in the lobby). the only problem was that our room was right above the courtyard (the same place breakfast is served). at night it was a hopping night spot/bar and it was VERY loud until 12:30. closing the window effectively blocked the noise but then it was stuffy in the room. eventually we asked for a fan and that helped a lot. i know they would have changed our room but not on the first night. and the other side of the hotel was on a street (we were in rome after all). the staff was unbelievably helpful. i would go back there.
“Art Deco Hotel”
The Locarno is a lovely original Deco styled hotel, it seems very popular with tourists and business people alike. My only criticism is that although the staff were helpful, the front desk seemed really chaotic - lots of staff but disorganised.
“Nice & Conveniently located Rome Hotel”
This hotel is rather nice, it has a elegant exterior facade and pleasant internal pre-50s themed design, including a cage lift like in the films. It is very well located near the river Tiber and the Piazza del Popolo and quite close to the Flaminio tube station. It has a very nice courtyard that serves as a evening restaurant and breakfast bar. The breakfasts are the usual buffet style but the staff are very polite and serve the guests well. They serve a wide range of drinks and i was impressed that they had Twinnings Tea's English Breakfast & Earl Grey. The staff speak excellent english which is good for the mostly english speaking tourists wo were staying there. The rooms are well kept, I had a single room which was small but adequate. Good bathroom facility although the showers are quite strange in how they operate. Apart from that it was very good on the whole.
