“Great Roman Stay”
Check in was hassle free. Room was nice, cool and quiet. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Would definately recommend this hotel.
“Great Location”
I have stayed at the Hotel Imperial Rome before, so this was my second stay. I chose it mainly for the location - near the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. The hotel is well maintained, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but decently furnished. On our way back we stayed at their sister hotel - The Donna Laura Palace which was closer to the Borghese Villa and the Vatican. It's a newer hotel and lighter and brighter, and also enjoyed that.
“Solid choice at the right price”
Hotel Imperiale isn't luxurious and the rooms are on the smaller size (bigger than a similarly priced place in NYC, but small compared to most other American hotels), but for a reasonably priced stay in a convenient location, I would recommend it unhesitatingly. The service was fantastic (early check-in after an over night flight? No problem. Reservations @ a local gallery? Taken care of. etc, etc.), the employees all speak servicable (or better) English and the breakfast offers a wide variety of pastries, fruits and couple of warm items. All major attractions are walkable, but if you're not feeling up to some of the more distant ones, there is a Metro stop only one block away, which can be ridden for only one Euro per person. Tickets can be purchased in the station or at the nearby newstand on the street.
“Good base of operations”
The hotel was in a great neighborhood. Up the block is even fancier, but is pricier (no surprise). The room clean and comfortable. As most rooms I've seen in Europe, it is small in comparison to the US. The bathroom was nice, but small. The shower allowed water to leak out a bit and needed towels to soak up the water. Having breakfast provided was nice. It wasn't a grand affair, but enough to get you started for the day and is quick vs. having to head to a restaurant. The only real problem we had was that we needed a blouse ironed. There are no irons allowed in the room. They told us it would cost 1 or 2 Euro's to get pressed. In the end they charged us 10 Euros ($15!). Overall, a good place to stay in a nice area with quick access to several sights and transportation.
“Very Nice Hotel”
Big Room, Great Location, AC, etc. I would recommend it. In the center of everything.
“Just Right”
Hotel Imperiale location was excellent. Room was very comfortable with a nice free breakfast. The front desk was always manned with English speaking person who were very helpful. We travel frequently and would stay at the Hotel Imperiale again.
“Great Hotel”
When we arrived in Rome it was late afternoon and the hotel did not have many rooms available so we got a very small room located way in the back of the hotel, standing room only in the bathroom. The next morning we let the front desk know of our disappointment and they arranged for an upgrade to a larger room, which was perfect. Nice size bathroom, king size bed and sitting area, with a view of a small courtyard. They were very accommodating. The location of the hotel is perfect, within a short walking distance to the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Borghese museum and gardens and shopping district. The breakfast was mediocre at best, meats and cheeses, breads, yogurt and eggs. Very limited on fruit. Overall the experience was pleasant. I would recommend this hotel and give it a 3.5 star European rating and a 3 star US rating.
“Central Good Value”
We were put in a minute twin room on our first night, but they moved us to a very nice quiet double room the following night for the remainder of our stay. Breakfast is fairly chaotic if you go close to 10am but is perfectly good before 9am. The hotel is brilliantly located next to the Barberini metro: 10mins to Collesseum and/or 15mins to nearest stop to Vatican. 10min walk to Spanish Steps. Lots of excellent restaurants very nearby. Minor issue with water leaking between the bottom of the shower door and the bath.
“Elegant hotel in an elegant part of Rome !”
Lovely hotel placed in a very elegant street. Very good location with the barbarini metro stop just a few steps away. A very good base in which to explore Rome. Highly recommended. The only issue I had was that the spa was way too pricey for what facilities it had to offer.
