Hotel Emona, 3 nights stayPosted 11-Feb-2014
Pros: The decor is amazing, and gave an authentic feeling, clean and tidy and you can tell they have put some effort in for the appearance in the lobby.
Cons: The bathroom could do with modernising with a spring clean in the shower. It wasn't't bad, just a little more attention.
Location: The city attractions are a far distance away, but the metro is approx 400 metres away w And will take you as close as possible to all the sights.
Having arrived mid afternoon, we checked in without any fuss but were told about the 'city tax' which costs 2-3 euros per person per night depending on your rated hotel. This wasn't explained to us upon booking but maybe that's our fault for not checking. The staff were friendly enough, ordering taxis when needed and even phoning a shop to see if it was open. The hotel class itself as 4 star but personally I think it's a 3.5 tops. Breakfast is a continental style but they did put on bacon and eggs too which is always nice. Note, there are no local shopping, bars and only one restaurant so a trip on the metro is needed, but then, the whole city is spread out over a few miles squared. If you intend to see the sights, always always always get a guide and if you find one called Alex with an English accent, he's brilliant

Nice hotel, good location for metro.Posted 7-Feb-2014
Pros: It was about 10 minute walk from the metro, room was quiet (we could hear some road noise but not enough to disturb sleep), good breakfast.
Cons: Cannot think of anything here.
Location: Hotel is 2 metro stops from the main rail & bus station. It is 10 minute walk from metro for access to all main tourist areas. Colosseum 20 min walk.
We found the hotel staff to be courteous. Hotel & room was clean. Breakfast was more than adequate with continental & hot options, plenty of choice & all very fresh. Some mornings we arrived down later for breakfast but we found that the supply of food was always replenished.

Cozy hotel but not 4 starPosted 22-Jan-2014
Pros: Garden area with trees like orange or palm is the best thing in the hotel.
Cons: Small and not clean bath. Cleaning staff make a lot of noise early in morning. Breakfast is aweful!
Location: There is not much around, the only good thing is that porta maggiore square with lots of tram and bus is beside which enable access to city center.
The hotel is located 20 minutes away from Termini station with easy access to it by public transport. The entrance is really great and beautiful. Inside: rooms are a bit small but with tall ceiling and well decorated. Bath is not as clean as it should be and yellow color is obvious in some white stuff and cleaning staff make a lot of noise in early morning! internet connection is not perfect. The worst point is breakfast which is really low in quantity and quality and number of items available. Even staff in charge for breakfast don't refill regularly and many times dishes were empty.

Pros: Front desk was welcoming, informative, helpful- especially when our airport shuttle pick up was running late. Comfortable seating in lobby area with e
Cons: Replace computer keyboard in common room off lobby: worn off letters on keys.
Location: All major attractions are accessible from nearby subway stop (10 min. walk) and converging bus routes at orundabout 1 block away.
This was a very good value blind expedia pick based on area. Eclectic art decorations and decent breakfast inside complimented the outside garden entrance and romantic outdoor night lighting with seating. 10 minutes from subway, 30 minutes walk to coliseum. Pre-arranged tours of Coliseum and Vatican easily reached by subway, and bus routes converge nearby. Short taxi ride from either train station. Recommended nearby restaurants were good to very good values.

Pros: it was clean and tidy. temperature in the room was really nice and there was always hot water
Cons: you can hear other guests in rooms next to you. the rooms are quite small
Location: near to public transport to get to the historic sites
definitely not a 4* hotel but as for Rome and the price it was all good. Clean and much more than expected for £30/per night.

Nice, friendly placePosted 26-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is in a nice location with easy access to electric trams and a short 5 minute walk to the Metro. Our quad room accommodate two adults and two pre-teens very well. The rooms and common areas were decorated with unique original artwork and antiques. The owners and staff were very friendly and service oriented, obviously committed to a positive experience for their guests.

Do not stay here! This is a 2 star B&BPosted 28-Oct-2013
Pros: Not much
Cons: Massive renovations, particularly to bathrooms.
Location: Close to metro, ~0.5km
This is a 2 star B&B by North American standards. Rooms are tiny, beds are hard, comforters are padded bedskirts. We had plumbing issues in our room and water started dripping from the ceiling when the toilet flushed, water dripped onto lighting fixture. Room A/C also didn't work. We switched rooms and this room the hot water didn't work. Breakfast was below standard European breakfast. The juices had flies floating in them.

I would definitely stay here again!Posted 28-Oct-2013
Pros: All but most of the art.
Cons: The paint in room 11 was rather curious. Something more complimentary to the space would be better than the several colors and hand textures.
Location: Metro was within walking distance so very convenient.
What a nice hotel experience...This boutique style hotel has a lovely courtyard full of plants and fountains where Nero, a handsome black cat naps in a chair outside. Staff was terrific, especially Andrea who was more than helpful, and breakfast was very nice set among antiques and inset marble floors. The ultra-modern art throughout is not in harmony with the rest of the beautiful surroundings but otherwise our experience was quite pleasing.
