“Fabulous location, TINY bathroom”

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Doge in Rome for two nights in June 2009. The hotel is fabulous if you are wanting to see Rome and not hang out in the room. Best feature: location!The location is absolutely fantastic. Very close to Spanish Steps, Trevi and other great sites. Second best feature: price. Good features: The staff is competent and friendly. The view from the small balcony was nice. The TV worked. The AC worked. Continental breakfast is delivered to your room. On the down side, the room is not very large, though it is adequate. Breakfast is not served until 8:00 am. Worst feature: The bathroom is tiny. The shower is microscopic -- a heavy person might not be able to fit through the shower doors (seriously). A normal adult cannot wash their legs because there is no bending room whatsoever.

“Excellent emplacement pour les visites et très bon rapport qualité prix.”

Idéal pour se déplacer à pied ou en métro. Les visites se font à pied ou éventuellement en métro comme le Vatican car 15 minutes de marche pour ceux qui n'aiment pas marcher. La Fontaine de trévis et le Colisée sont à 5 mn de marche à pied. Je vous conseil aussi de prendre le métro terminus christophe colomb pour une journée de plage privé au prix de 40 € pour 4 personnes la journée. Le petit déjeuner est simple mais suffisant!

“Nice continental breakfast included in rate.”

Hotel has a really unattractive entrance (and a VERY small lift), but the room (and balcony) were nice, very clean. The room was very well air conditioned in the August heat and the continental breakfast was large. There was a safe for your valuables. It was in an excellent location- very close to the Spanish Steps and close to the Trevi fountain. It was quiet and the price was right for a centrally located and convenient hotel. Bus and Metro were very close.

“Best location in Rome!”

Location can not be beat! We had an amazing 3 days. The location of this hotel is outstanding, it is walking distance to everything and the neighbourhood is very safe. Rooms are big, bright & airy. The bathrooms are clean & spacious. If you are looking for a clean comfortable place to sleep, I would recommend here to anyone visiting Rome.

“Great Location All You Could Want From A City Break”

This hotel is brilliant, excellent value for money and I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Rome. The location is by far the best you could ask for, literally in between the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain with Vatican City and the Colosseum less than 30 minutes walk away. The room was very clean on arrival and cleaned daily throughout our stay. It is just the right size for a city break with one room with your bed in and a separate private bathroom. Your not going to be in their much, just to sleep (in the surprisingly comfy beds) so you don't really need much else. If there was one thing I had to pick to complain about would be the noise level but that's what you get for being so close to the main attractions. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made our overall stay very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rome.

“Affordable and would stay again!”

I expected a simple hotel but upon arrival at the hotel, I was shocked. The outside of the hotel did not look like a hotel. It looked like it was the entrance to a car and the hallway made it seems that it was once a store since it had empty display cases on the walls. the lobby is to your left. But I guess its true never judge a book by its cover. The staff were extremely friendly. Even though we were way before check in, they let us in. Then on the right of the entrance are the stairs to the hotel, this is a different entrance from the lobby. You can either take the stairs, or the elevator, which is really small. You can fit one or two people at a time with luggage. Otherwise you can fit three. The room was clean and we had a balcony! They had staff cleaning everyday the rooms, the breakfast was simple and great and I sure miss it. The hotel is literally two blocks from the spanish steps and via del corso and where the brand name stores are, such as prada and dior. The trevi fountain is about five or six blocks. The locations is great and in the spanish steps there have free tours everyday at 11 am, 12, and 5pm. The staff is willing to assist you directions or anything else you may need, such as toilet paper in four in the morning. They have someone 24 hours in the lobby. Overall, I would stay again, it is not the nicest hote, such as granite in the bathroom or plasma tvs,l but the location and the kind staff makes me want to go back.

“Awsome location!!!”

I could not have asked for a better location that was in walking distance from the colosseum, Vatican City, Castel Sant'Angelo and fabulous shopping and restaurants. The people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had was the phone in my room was not working. other than that it was very clean, and the location was superior.

“Best option for the price”

We were pleasantly surprised with Hotel Doge, the location is its biggest advantage. We spent only one full day in Rome so we had to be close to all the landmarks. We walked everywhere. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and new. They bring breakfast to your room and we totally enjoyed coffee in bed! Overall, the hotel is good value for money!

“ne pas se fier à la devanture...”

Il ne paie pas de mine à l'entrée, car c'est un hôtel installé dans les étages d'un immeuble pas très récent. Mais le personnel est très accueillant et, une fois entré dans les couloirs, on trouve des lieux chaleureux, neufs et très propres, des chambres certes pas très grandes mais aussi très confortables et propres. En plus il est parfaitement situé et facilemetn accessible en métro et bus.
