“Visited September 2009 - Can't wait to go back!”
What a wonderful hotel, we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Rome. It's very small, only about 6 apartments within a private block and therefore it doesn't have a Bar or leisure facilities but they were not missed at all. Because of it's size it can be difficult to find, you are looking for a small plaque on the wall of a private building rather than a huge neon sign. From the second we got there we received a wonderful warm welcome and the room itself was superb - clean, comfortable and with a very well stocked mini bar and snacks (which were very reasonable). It had all the benefits you would expect e.g: air conditioning, hair dryer, TV, Safe etc The location is spot on as well, very handy for the main train station (Termini) and set within a number of streets that were riddled with superb restaurants. The food in this area was out of this world not to mention a lot cheaper than what you were paying in the city centre and the ultimate good review was that there were many locals eating here. All in all the entire stay here was first rate, we can't wait to go back.
“grate service”
actualy we arrive to the hotel and the owner said that there is a problem with ower room , so he send us to another hotel with the same owner and gave us the suite room... (the name of the hotel is essedra hotel) ' it was grate hotel with grate service and location.
“loved it, amazing.”
loved every second of this holliday,it was amazing, the hotel was fantastic, very clean, freindly staff and the service was a1.The room was cleaned evety day with fresh towels etc.and u even got complemetary ice drinks wich were a godsend in the heat.i would definatly stay at this hotel next time i visit Rome.
“Great location & fair price, we'd stay again any time”
Great hotel experience overall. It was a walk able distance from the Roma Termini train station (roughly half mile IF you don’t get lost). Tons of amazing sights within 2 miles which are walk able or a quick taxi ride away. Great little restaurants and a grocery store just around the corner. It’s a relatively quiet neighborhood which is nice for escaping the hordes of tourists elsewhere in the city. It is tough to find; it only has a small placard next to the doorway on the street and you have to buzz to get in the first time. There is an elevator but we didn’t know about it until the last day. We were greeted with cold water which was a nice touch since it was in the mid 90s. The desk attendants spoke enough English to get along and answer basic questions. The room itself was very clean and compact. It was our first trip to Italy so we learned that most hotels don’t have alarm clocks, (maybe this is true in most of Europe?) so bring your own if you want to get an early start. The air conditioning worked well, but the settings weren’t very intuitive and our unit threw the fuse out in the hotel a couple times. Hopefully they get that issue fixed soon! All in all this is a great place for the price- close to most of the big tourist attractions in Rome, yet a quite place to retreat for a good rest.
“just as described by previous visitors”
We arrived in darkness and the presence of many wheelie bins in the surrounding streets and that there was a strip club next dooor and an adult cinema opposite ,really worried us.We needn't have worried - next day it was clear we were surrounded by embassy bulidings ,most with big gardens and there are wheelie bins on every corner all over rome! The area is actually very quiet - we slept with windows wide open and were only disturbed brieflly by the bin lorries that empty restaurant bins every night. Our room ( no 2 ) was nicely decorated and very clean. It had only a shower though. The room was cleaned and beds made every day even a sweet left on the pillow! The reception staff were very helpful - letting us look things up on their PC and even offering a coffee whilst we were there. They also rang to book a restaurant for us. Breakfasts were good but coffee was left on the bufffet table for guests to help themselves and we always had to ask for fresh ( luke warm) . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone. There is a lift in the hotel that other gusts seemed to have missed - on the right as you enter so no need to struggle with bags. Also there is a top restaurant at the end of the street ( Babbos - rated no 8 in rome by visitors )we ate there twice - very good. If you like beer try the rosso draught - fabtastic!
“CAPITAL Capitolium in capital Rome”
It was just off Piazza Repubblica, very convenient for bus and metro.Rooms and luxury bathroom much better than 2 star.Staff spoke English and very helpful. Hotel situated in large building off Via Nazionale, with concierge and delightful wrought iron work lift Rooms decorated with air of elegance. Excellent value for money
“Lovely!”
The location of the hotel is great with regard to getting about to see the sights. It is only 10 minutes walk from the main station Termini. We caught the Leonardo Express train to Termini which is non stop from Fiumicino airport and very reasonable. The metro runs from Termini as well and takes you to most of the sights for just 1 euro per trip wherever you go. The hotel itself is located on thew second floor in an aprtment block and although the street it is in is not the most picturesque it does have bars an restuarants nearby. One inside the hotel is is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room is cleaned daily. You have a safe in the wardrobe which was useful and the bathroom we had was lovely with a big shower cubicle. overall i would definately recommend it as a place to stay. The only thing lacking is that it doesnt have a restaurant or bar if you wanted to just sit and relax for a few hours. However the minibar in the room is clearly priced and far more reasonable than buying drinks out.
“Veryimpressed”
We were thoroughly happy with our room. The breakfast was above average - good coffee (ask for cappucino as the coffee was very strong), a superb choice of breakfast items and a very helpful staff. The furnishings are new and clean. The only problem there is that the electricity is rather tricky. We complied with the electricity usage of the hotel, but the electricity did go off at different times. It always came on within a short time. This was not a big problem and we treated it lightly. We were treated with the utmost respect and friendliness and will definitely use the hotel again when we return to Rome.
“Highly recommended!”
Not a full-service hotel - rather a floor in an apartment building, but the rooms are beautiful, quite spacious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient: a walking distance to Termini Station. I really enjoyed my stay at Capitolium!
