“Great place to stay”
Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and common terrace areas, balconies in some rooms. Responsive management - Very good breakfast service. - Highly recommended.
“Good European Lodging”
We've stayed at other European hotels and knew what to expect, in terms of the size of the beds and the rooms themselves. Hotel Bled wasn't much different in that regard, however the hotel was very clean, the staff was very helpful and all of them spoke English well. There was this one guy who worked the nightshift who didn't seem to know anything about the neighborhood, or city itself. It wasn't the language barrier, just incompetence! In the lower level of the hotel they had a good size resturant that served breakfast - a few deli meats, cheeses, assortment of breads, fruit, juices, cereals, and coffe. Unfortunately it didn't seem like they used the restaurant any other part of the day. The hotel was in a good location. It was about a block and a half from the subway station (only a 3 stops from the Coliseum and 2 stops from the main train station) so you could get around with ease. The neighbor hood it was in had other hotels in the area, as well as plenty of coffee shops for the early risers. I don't know if I'd stay at this hotel again, but for an economy hotel in Europe, you won't have any complaints.
“European hotel experience was a pleasure.”
The flavor of Rome was caputured in the Bled...clean, great people, good food, walking distance to many things. Good experience.
“Disappointing”
When we arrived the front desk clerk was very rude to us. Our room was very small and smelled of mildew. It was very hot and we were told that the AC wouldn't be turned on for a few months. So we had to leave the windows open day and night. It is on a VERY busy street so the noise is horrible. The maid service was good. The bathroom shower leaked and had a horrible mildew smell after running the water. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.
“Hotel Fled”
First of all Hotel Bled's location leaves much to be desired, it's in a "creepy" neighborhood and on a busy street corner. My room actually looked out upon a homeless man living on the street. Secondly my room smelled dingy and moldy, and also dirty when I arrived i.e.; large amounts of hair in sink area, toilet water on floor, dirty glasses and strange smelling sheets. The employees were very rude and were of no help, for example the maid actually took all of our toilet paper, and the front desk gave me a hard time when I tried to get one roll back. The breakfast consists of fly ridden stale breads, souring milk, and runny "hard" boiled eggs. Almost every table has old dishes and silverware on it and what little clean utensils they have normally have food particles still adhering. Also one day we came in nearly an hour late to breakfast and witnessed them putting out the next days food already. The sheets were never changed in four days even when requested and a pizza box was left on the floor for three. The towels were never changed out, also even when requested and were hastily hung back up. Also two dirty wine glasses which were set on the aforementioned pizza box were moved back to the desk area, but not cleaned. When I asked the front desk to quote me the room price a day later the attendant did not know how to bring it up and waved his hands in the air frantically when asked to find out. And lastly, I caught the front desk reading my postcards I gave them to mail.
