“Inexpensive but Nice”
Being I paid very little for the room, I wasn't expecting much. But when I got to the hotel, I was very impressed. The hotel and room was clean, nice, and like new. The room had a little balcony overlooking the street (though there wasn't much of a pretty view) and air conditioning, a must have in Rome. Parts of the hotel was still under renovation during my stay, but that was not a problem in any way. The hotel was convenient to the metro and public transportation. The hotel served a complimentary continental breakfast which was satisfying and enough to prepare us for the day. Also included was a room safe and mini fridge. I would recommend this hotel to those on a budget that are looking for a very nice, clean room with all the necessary amenities.
“August 2010”
Very nice hotel, excellent location. Little far to walk with bags from the train terminal, but once there, close to everything. Breakfast is typical continental, but the veranda is a nice touch. Several good restaurants within the block, very nice neighborhood. We would stay here again anytime. The staff is wonderful. We did not take the advice of previous reviews and allow the hotel to arrange a car to pick us up at the airport and we suffered the fate of others with a 'quote' for one price, but the meter said a higher price. The car the hotel arranged back to the airport was clean, roomy and quick. And the price quoted by the front desk. Very enjoyable stay.
“A great experience at a great cost”
Having stayed in another hotel in Florence, and having seen others in the city, Hotel Best Roma was a fantastic hotel. While not large, everything was meticulously clean and well maintained. There is a great restaurant around the corner (Reds Restaurant) that we went to every night, and the 24 hour front desk made sure we didn't have to worry about when we came back. The neighbourhood was quieter than most places, and the subway was close by (a 5 minute walk) making it easy to get around the city. Breakfast was great (cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cheeses and meats, croissants and other pastries, and various coffees/juices) and gave us a good boost to the day. They have 3-hour internet access for around 7 euro (may change since this was written), and a shop that sells calling cards and internet just 2 doors down. The man at the desk was always helpful and knowledgeable, offering up where to go, what to do, and how to get there (he seemed to have the entire bus schedule and numbers memorized). Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Made for a great honeymoon.
“Will recommend to others”
Rooms not huge but not small. Fantastic showers. Hotel staff were outstanding, great greeting and tour guides all rolled into one. Breakfast was not overly inspiring but was adequate to fill you up. Would like to have seen tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
“Teriffic Hotel”
Located about 20 minutes walk from the Colosseum and 5 from the nearest Metro station, ideal spot to be located for a Roman holiday. Hotel appears to be in a 'rough' area as there's graffiti on many walls in the area, but as you travel around Rome, you'll find just about any stationary object will get written on. No apprehension about walking along late in the evening. Hotel look s to have been recently renovated as everything is really clean, staff friendly and very helpful, room small but large enough to chill out (if you don't fancy sitting in the garden) Cleaner is very thorough, everything is cleaned and bedding / towels changed daily. Plenty of tratorria's close by, or a couple of supremarkets if you fancy doing your own thing, sitting in the garden with a bottle of wine, some bread, cheeses and ham in the evening is really good. Wifi access is available, but at a charge.
“Don't Let The Neoghbourhood Fool You!”
Not too far from the train station (Roma Termini); long walk with suitcases but its far better to take the subway (2 stops and walk 3-4 blocks). The area does not look the greatest but it is safe and the hotel is amazing! I think it was recently renovated and the two best rooms are on the top (4th) floor as there is a nice little terrace there and a ground floor patio as well. Just awesome to sip wine and relax after a long day of sight seeing. Once you get there, it's an excellent location from which to get around Rome; use the subway pass but note that it's not a full 24 hour day! Buy it Sunday evening and it expires Wednesday morning not Wednesday evening as you would expect. Front desk was exceptionally helpful and Giancarlo (?) went out of his way to recommend many restaurants and transportation details. On our date of departure, there was a wildcat strike by the train staff in Rome; the Front Desk caught wind of this and arranged for a shared van with other guests to get to the airport. We made our flight but others may have been late or stressed! Great job helping us by hotel staff. Breakfast was good; hard boiled eggs, cheese and bread. May not be the breakfast of champions but it was enough to keep us going until dinner or a later dinner if we had a midday snack. Fantastic value for the money; I'd go back in an instant.
“Great value for money”
We were very happy with our stay here. The room we were in at first was very small (normal for Rome , I think) but management was very obliging and moved us to a larger room which was very comfortable. There was a satisfying continental breakfast with a choice of cereals. The hotel is conveniently situated with two metro stations within a short walking distance of the hotel (5 - 10 mins). The Colosseum and Forum were a little further. As it is relatively new, the hotel does not yet have a large sign outside so make sure you have the exact street address.
“Worth a visit”
The hotel is situated in what appears to be a bit of a rough area. However, don't be put off by the external appearance, inside it is lovely, small but lovely. The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment although our room had been completed. I could not fault it, the decor was to a very high standard and I would not hesitate to go back there.
“New hotel. Excellent Value. Very pleasant stay.”
This hotel is on the East side of Rome (when looking at the tourist maps.) It is about 1km from the colosseum, has a tram route running past the front and is a short walk to the red metro line. The room was recently fitted out. It is quite small but has everything you need (including AC!!) The room has blinds which block out all light and noises! The breakfast was fairly basic but tasty (good hot chocolate!) The only minor issue was that there was no bath in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay.
“Modern, Comfortable, and Classy”
Very attractive hotel, which is near enough to Manzoni tube station for ease of getting around, and also a reasonable walk from the Colosseum. Room are nicely furnished with good showers and comfortable beds. The only criticism I would make is that it is a bit light on savoury breakfast.
