“"Well located"”
My husband and I were very pleasantly surprized how well located this hotel wasafter we got back from our cruise. We took the train from Civitavecchia to the Aurelia stop and then bus to hotel. It is very close to the Metro (subway) and buses to and from downtown Rome. It is within walking distance to the Vatican, St. Peter's. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had booked inclusive of breakfast which was more than adequate for us. The room and washroom were clean and comfortable for our two night stay. There is a nice little patio out the back of the hotel where you can sit in the evening and go over the days events with a nice glass of wine! Just a couple of doors from the hotel is a handy little convenience store. A great restaurant Sora Pia is very close by on the same street as hotel. We would definitely stay there again!
“Very good value, well located.”
We loved hotel Aurelius and would highly recommend it. Well located near Metro Carmelia (Be sure to take left hand escalator when exiting to get to Via Aurelia.) The small hotel is spic and span, elegant, rich breakfast buffet, the staff is accomodating. There are nearby inexpensive eateries, MacDonald is around the corner The immediate sorrounding neighborhood is a bit run down, but the hotel makes up for it, We would highly recommend this hotel and had a very good experience.
“Excellent”
“Quaint hotel, excellent staff”
Hotel Aurelias was a nice little hotel near the Cornelia stop on the metro. It's two stops away from the Vatican, so it's a good choice if you'll be touring that side of Rome. The room I got with my buddy was pretty small, just enough room for the beds and a small desk, but it was still plenty comfortable. Beds are decent enough when compared to other hotels I visited in Italy. The thing that really made this hotel great was the staff. They were all incredibly helpful and were extremely courteous. They gave me pointers on which metro stops were best for the sites i wanted to visit and even pointed me to a great little restaurant nearby If you need a place to lay your head for a good price while in Rome, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!
“4 Star Hotel in a 3 Star Neighborhood”
A 4 star hotel, even by US standards. We had two triple rooms, and though a little tight, they were very clean, comfortable and nicely finished. Powerful A/Cs. It was easy to drive to the hotel, and parking was across the street (unsecured lot). Public bus or subway made it easy to get in to town, though it takes about 30 minutes. One of the nicest aspects was the very friendly/helpful staff. The General Manager, Alex, was a real pleasure and gave us lots of useful tips. His English was perfect, but everyone at the 24 hour manned front desk was fluent. The neighborhood is not as nice as the Hotel, but seemed safe and had easy access in and out of town.
“Convenient to Vatican City”
I found Hotel Aurelius to be the right fit for me, a first time visitor to Rome. Close to subway, two stops past the Vatican. Easy commute on subway to main train station. The staff was very helpful and polite. The condition of my room, the lobby, breakfast room, hallway all were exceptionally nice. There is obvious attention to detail and cleanliness.
“A Traveler from Sterling Heights Michigan”
This is a solid 4-star hotel with modern and clean rooms, located on the outskirts of central Rome but with easy access to all the major landmarks. Getting here: from the airport take the train (from Fiumicino) to the main train station Termini, then metro line A. Get off at Cornelia. Hotel is 5 minutes away, on Via Aurelia. The metro runs often (every several minutes) and connects to the main train station Termini and all the major Rome landmarks. Note that currently they are doing engineering work in the metro so if you arrive after 9pm you need to take a replacement bus MA1or 96 instead which follows the metro route. Room decor was modern, trendy yet elegant. It seems that all furniture was brand new. The rooms are on the small side; however, the bathrooms are very large for a budget hotel. It is clean and comfortable. There is breakfast served every morning until 10 and it is a decent fare to start the day. I would definitely recommend it because it saves time and money since it's an all you can eat. If you need breakfast a bit earlier just ask the staff the night before. The reception staff was helpful and spoke excellent english. There were several restaurants nearby and we would especially recommend Joseph's (opposite the metro station). It was always busy with locals. We enjoyed our stay and would go back there anytime
“Great Value in Rome”
This hotel had a great location with easy access to the subway and bus lines. The room included wireless internet and a very nice breakfast buffet. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The room was small, but I think that is to be expected in Rome. While the bed took up most of the room, the bathroom was a decent size and my wife and I did not find it uncomfortable. We would stay there again.
“good place to stay”
Nice staff very helpfull FRONT DESK its very close to everthing
“Hotel Aurelius”
The rooms are smallish but perfectly acceptable and well appointed, the staff were excellent, it's some way out of the city centre but the metro is only a couple of minutes walk away and there are some excellent restaurants nearby. Much better value than staying in a city centre hotel.
