“Hotel Aureliano”
Great place to stay in Rome! Very clean and modern. This hotel even has shower curtains which is not normal!! A great plus! The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is the time it takes to get to the city. It it very close to the bus stop that takes you to the train station (Cornelia Station) which will take you down town. I would not recommend trying to walk to the city. The hotel has great surroundings and is only two train stops away from Vatican City. I would say allow 30 minutes to get in downtown Rome. With all this said I believe anyone would enjoy staying here.
“A GREAT place to stay in Rome as long as you don't mind a bit of a walk to the Metro!”
From check-in to check-out, everything was great. The desk staff was friendly, professional and helpful. I arrived at 10am (well before check-in time) to find that my room was ready. Breakfast was included in the room price and was the typical European style--a great way to start a long day of sightseeing. There is a grocery store near the hotel and several great restaurants within walking distance. The closest metro station (Cornelia) is a 15 minute walk through a pleasant neighborhood. Once on the metro, you are 10 minutes away from the Vatican and 20 minutes from the city center. I'll definitely be back to Hotel Aureliano!
“Great Place to Stay”
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with tour arrangements and taxi service. The rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet was great and included free. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is close to the subway system and within walking distance which was very helpful since hotel was quite a ways from the city's center.
“Great experience all around”
We were delighted with every aspect of our stay at the Hotel Aureliano. This is a newer hotel, and the management seems dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and comfort. Our room and all common areas were in perfect, like-new condition. The front desk staff speaks english well, and all were very courteous and helpful. Our room was large (by European standards), comfortable, and quiet (even though the street in front of the hotel is quite busy). Our room had a huge bathtub and shower. The housekeeping staff did a great job, servicing our room perfectly every day. A complimentary breakfast is served daily, and it was quite nice. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was outstanding! The chef was superb, and the entire staff of waiters and waitress were friendly and attentive. (While the front desk staff speaks english, no one else we met did...we found that the time we devoted to studying "survival Italian" was well-spent...we were able to communicate a little, and the staff responded kindly to our feeble efforts!) It's a 15-minute walk from the hotel to a metro station, and we had no problem reaching all of our sightseeing destinations using public transportation. We highly recommend this hotel, and would certainly stay here again in the future.
“An excellent hotel that is value for money”
We stayed in May for my 50th birthday and there was a party of 10 us.On the first morning after arrival we decided to do an organised coach tour of ancient Rome & the sights. We were picked up from the hotel before the breakfast room opened , however the concierge arranged for us to have a picnic breakfast that we could eat on the coach trip.On the morning of my birthday the hotel staff arranged a champagne reception with a birthday cake which of course we paid for but they were more than happy to oblige. All the Hotel staff spoke good english & were more than helpful with maps & directions to places of interest & where to eat. Although the hotel is not in the centre of Rome it is easy & cheap to get to the centre by Taxi or Metro plus it is cheaper on the outskirts to eat out. There is a fantastic family run Trattorria as you turn right out of the hotel 250m down on the opposite side of the road... great food & good value.
“Very satisfied hotel guest”
My husband and I thought the hotel was great. The front desk employees spoke good English and were very friendly. When we arrived, the restaurant was closing, but the concierge asked the chef to keep it open and cook something for us - I though it was very nice of them. Daily breakfast buffet was wonderful with fresh croissants, breads, deli meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurt, coffee, juices etc. It normally opens at 0730. The size of the room was just fine for me (but I am European and am used to smaller spaces)however, my husband, who is an American, felt it was a bit small but then changed his mind and decided it was just fine. It comfortably accommodates two people and has a nice balcony. Bathrooms and rooms were very clean, maids came in every day to clean and replace towels etc. The only reason we may not stay here next time is we would like to try out a hotel in the hassle and bustle of everything (we are both big city people). The location is actually very nice: safe and not far away from the metro (within 15-minute walk) however, it is just not in the center of the city. I must mention that it does not take long to get to attractions once one is at the metro but a walk to and from the metro in the middle of July when the temperatures are over +30 degrees (and after sightseeing all day long) was a little exhausting for us. There are also two buses, 246 and 247, that will take you to the metro. The bus stop is just a few meters away from the hotel entrance.
“Great Hotel”
We stayed in the hotel for three nights. It was one of our favorite hotels in Europe. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The room was comfortable, and the shower was the biggest I've ever seen in a European hotel. Breakfast was good also. It is only a block away from the Vatican, and easily accessible by the Metro.
“Nice, clean hotel, but far from things.”
This hotel is very clean and beautiful. But it is about a 10 min walk from the nearest Metro station. The tv channels are in italian except for CNN, and not much goes on around the hotel in the evenings. So be prepared if youre carrying heavy luggage or you want things to do at night. You'll have to pay cab fares in the evenings and you'll have to go elsewhere to find nightlife.
“Excellent Value for Money”
This was our first trip to Rome and from the moment we booked into the hotel, we found the hotel staff to be extremely helpful and they spoke very good English. They gave us advice about travelling around this wonderful city and happily booked taxis for us when requested. Our room was compact but very clean and had everyone we wanted (apart from tea/coffee making facilities). We intend going back to Rome and want to stay at this hotel again.
“Great place.”
This hotel was very nice. We thought it was a 3 star when we arrived, but it definitely was a 4 star. Very nice for Europe, probably the best I have stayed in while overseas. Definitely not a large room, but as nice as it is, you don't end up caring about the limited space. It was further out of the city, which was kind of nice, less traffic congested, and out of the way, better than being right in the middle of Rome. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Cornelia metro station (on Line A). Only 3 stops from the Vatican, 7 stops from the Spanish Steps, and 10 stops from Termini. This made it super convenient. The food in the restaurant was good, and the breakfasts were great. It's a little bit expensive, but then so is all of Rome. The hotel staff was very helpful with any questions that we had. One tip. We had hoped to do laundry while we were there, but there wasn't a washer and dryer on the premises for us, they sent the laundry out to be cleaned.
