Very good location

Posted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Comfortable room and good location.
Cons: Not a thing
Location: Colosseum, Forum and Museums.
I was pleased by where the hotel is situated, which was a very easy five minute walk from the colosseum. The breakfast was great and the children were made to feel comfortable. Good places to eat nearby and easy link to the metro (five minutes walk). My family and I had a smashing time much improved due to location and pleasant reception from the hotel staff.

Friendly hotel in funky area.

Posted 13-Apr-2014
Pros: Great bathroom, comfy bed and generous buffet breakfast on the roof terrace. It'salso nice and quiet considering the liveliness of the area.
Cons: They have a bit of a drains problem, which we solved by stuffing toilet paper in the bidet and sink plugholes - but the cleaner dutifully removed them
Location: As mentioned, great selection of restaurants and within a kilometer of the colosseum, St Peter's prison, Circus Maximus etc. Interesting shops.
It's in a great area for eating and drinking, run by nice helpful people and close to the colosseum and many other global ancient icons - all in easy walking distance.

A little gem of a hotel

Posted 28-Jan-2014
Pros: Very clean hotel, comfy beds, nice quiet rooms. Would stay there again without hesitation. My single room was spacious and well appointed.
Cons: Hotel doesn't offer to book sightseeing tours etc for you, but they will happily book taxis.
Location: Walking distance for Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. If you're not afraid of a longer walk, you can comfortably walk to Vatican City as well.
A little gem of a hotel, and it is literally only 200 metres from the Colesseum - just turn left when leaving the hotel and the Colesseum is straight in front of you. Don't be put off by the somewhat nondescript, skinny building from the outside. Inside this hotel was perfect for my holiday.

This is what a hotel in Rome should be

Posted 17-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Extremely friendly and considerate staff; they went out of their way to make our stay special. The room exudes Roman charm; as does the hotel itself. Not all the conveniences of an "Americanized," hotel, but a far, far better experience. The location is perfect: a short walk to the Colosseum (right down the street), within walking distance of many other must-see sights, and on a street with small stores and restaurants catering to the locals.

Great stay

Posted 4-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Great location, good staff, phenomenal breakfast. Only 'issue' was that they changed the towels and open soaps every day. We were hoping they would leave it and be more "green", but overall the whole stay was very positive. Oh, and the owner is a riot! Great guy!

Wonderful hotel, kind & caring personnel, A+

Posted 14-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Great small family-run hotel in a super location near the coloseum in centro storico Roma. The family and other staff members are all wonderfully helpful and friendly - they helped to make our visit to Rome special! The spotlessly clean lovely room was decorated with fabric walls and paintings and had a small refrigerator, safe, & tv with vast channel selection. A nice breakfast buffet is served each morning up on the terrace with a big cup of cappucino. The hotel is situated in a great area for walking to many of the historical sites and is located a short walk from two metro stations: the Colosseo and Via Cavour. There are some nice little restaurants and shops and tiny grocers in the vicinity. We love this hotel and the dear people there - we have stayed here numerous times over the years and each time is always a wonderful experience. THANK YOU!

Apollo is good

Posted 25-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
I had a four-day meeting in Rome, and had to stay in two different hotels, both booked through hotels.com, due to availability and cost issues. After having spent the first two days in Eurostars International Palace, where the staff were friendlly but the room was phenomenally small despite a large sum that I paid, staying in Apollo felt like moving to a palace. The room was big, breakfast was nice. The only (big) problem was the check-out time - 10:30 am. I have traveled to 50+ countries and have never come across such an early check-out requirement. On the other hand, everything else was good, so no major complaints.

Great Location for our Roman Holiday

Posted 20-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
Great overall rating for the Hotel Apollo. Great breakfast included on the roof each morning, and great location 500m from the Coliseum and Roman Forum. We comfortably walked to most Rome attractions including the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. Look out for great little bakeries, restaurants, gelati shops and groceries in the surrounding streets providing all the gems of Italian cuisine. Only drawback for us was the tiny shower which was a little uncomfortable. Well worth a visit.
