A little gem of a hotelPosted 28-Jan-2014
Pros: Very clean hotel, comfy beds, nice quiet rooms. Would stay there again without hesitation. My single room was spacious and well appointed.
Cons: Hotel doesn't offer to book sightseeing tours etc for you, but they will happily book taxis.
Location: Walking distance for Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. If you're not afraid of a longer walk, you can comfortably walk to Vatican City as well.
A little gem of a hotel, and it is literally only 200 metres from the Colesseum - just turn left when leaving the hotel and the Colesseum is straight in front of you. Don't be put off by the somewhat nondescript, skinny building from the outside. Inside this hotel was perfect for my holiday.

Great stayPosted 4-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Great location, good staff, phenomenal breakfast. Only 'issue' was that they changed the towels and open soaps every day. We were hoping they would leave it and be more "green", but overall the whole stay was very positive. Oh, and the owner is a riot! Great guy!

Wonderful hotel, kind & caring personnel, A+Posted 14-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Great small family-run hotel in a super location near the coloseum in centro storico Roma. The family and other staff members are all wonderfully helpful and friendly - they helped to make our visit to Rome special! The spotlessly clean lovely room was decorated with fabric walls and paintings and had a small refrigerator, safe, & tv with vast channel selection. A nice breakfast buffet is served each morning up on the terrace with a big cup of cappucino. The hotel is situated in a great area for walking to many of the historical sites and is located a short walk from two metro stations: the Colosseo and Via Cavour. There are some nice little restaurants and shops and tiny grocers in the vicinity. We love this hotel and the dear people there - we have stayed here numerous times over the years and each time is always a wonderful experience. THANK YOU!

Apollo is goodPosted 25-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
I had a four-day meeting in Rome, and had to stay in two different hotels, both booked through hotels.com, due to availability and cost issues. After having spent the first two days in Eurostars International Palace, where the staff were friendlly but the room was phenomenally small despite a large sum that I paid, staying in Apollo felt like moving to a palace. The room was big, breakfast was nice. The only (big) problem was the check-out time - 10:30 am. I have traveled to 50+ countries and have never come across such an early check-out requirement. On the other hand, everything else was good, so no major complaints.

Great Location for our Roman HolidayPosted 20-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
Great overall rating for the Hotel Apollo. Great breakfast included on the roof each morning, and great location 500m from the Coliseum and Roman Forum. We comfortably walked to most Rome attractions including the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. Look out for great little bakeries, restaurants, gelati shops and groceries in the surrounding streets providing all the gems of Italian cuisine. Only drawback for us was the tiny shower which was a little uncomfortable. Well worth a visit.

Decent hotel in good location, staff a bit rudePosted 7-Oct-2013
Pros: Location, rooms, breakfast
Cons: Friendliness of the staff
Location: Location is fantastic, very central and very near the Colloseum
Stayed here two nights (Fri and Sat), very good location with the Colloseum literally at the end of the road and a lovely square a few yards down with some nice bars and restaurants. Rooms are a good size and the breakfast was very good and served in a lovely room at the top of the building. The only negative was the friendliness of the staff - they were borderline rude on more than one occasion, which is a bit disappointing really as not what you want on a relaxing break. This hotel does what it says on the tin. I would recommend for the reasons above, but they really need to teach their reception staff some manners/etiquette.

Great location but internet problems.Posted 24-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed in one of the apartments that is down the street from the actual hotel. It has one separate bedroom and a pull out bed in the living room area which our two teenagers slept in. There is a kitchenette area with small stovetop, refrigerator, and dishes. The location is great - very close to the Colosseum, other ruins, and many good restaurants. You feel like a local because the rest of the building is regular apartments where normal people live. The only problem was that the internet connection never worked correctly (even after the router was replaced) which was an issue for us because my husband and son had work to complete.

Avoid this hotel-there are many better onePosted 23-Jul-2013
Cons: Staffing, room furnishings and cleanliness.
Location: Location is in ancient city close to many things.
We arrived at 5pm. The hotel is very old, rooms are very small. The airconditioning was weak at best, the internet service was out and they were not sure when it would be up, the rooms were dirty (hair on the sheets). I would not advise anyone to stay at this place. We walked up the street and there were 8 similar places with lower prices and better facilities. We did not stay one night of our reservation but left the place and found another hotel. We stayed at the Best Western Mondial just up the street where the rooms were twice as big, the staff was professional, the rooms were clean, and we had a great stay. THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS PLACE IS A 4.6 out of 5.0. AVOID THIS PLACE, THERE ARE MANY BETTER IN THE SAME AREA.
