I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Hotel Hiberia, and I must say it was far from a pleasant stay.
Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that the air conditioner was not working properly. Despite adjusting the settings and waiting patiently, the room remained uncomfortably hot at 80 degrees. We went downstairs that night and requested a fan for the room. The front desk had changed to the night shift worker who said we would need to wait until morning to get a fan for our room. So, we sweat it out that night and waited until morning to make the request again.
To our dismay, the air conditioning unit in that room had sprung a leak and made a small pool our water directly under it, inside one of our bags of luggage. Everything was soaked and had a disgusting odor to it ruining some of our belongings.
We called the front desk to let them know and they sent a maintenance worker to take a look. He came up and said there was nothing they could do about it now but they could take a look the next day. They had no other rooms to offer at the time and we moved to another hotel that night.
Seeking a resolution, we decided to speak with the manager the next day. However, their attitude toward our predicament was utterly apathetic. Instead of offering a sincere apology or finding a solution, the manager seemed indifferent and uninterested in addressing our concerns. Their dismissive behavior was disheartening, leaving us feeling unvalued as guests.
