No Pool as advertised

Posted 7-Apr-2014
Booked this hotel as was the only 4 star available in Rome with a swimming pool. They do have one but not used and it looked in need of repair and it was not maintained. When we asked we where told it was opening April even though we where already in April... We are very disappointed as this hotel was booked purely for the use of the pool..

Elegant hotel in a quiet neighbourhood

Posted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: The shuttle services, the airport drop off/pick up, the staff, the breakfast
Cons: Can't think of anything in particular.
Location: The Vatican is near and you can also take an open bus (hop on/off) near the Vatican to have the tour of the city, which we did and loved it.
Our family of three has really enjoed staying at Tiberio. We have used their free shttle and airport pick up/ drop off services which were very convenient. I am glad that I had read the hotel review before coming to Rome; this is why I knew to book their shuttle 24 hours ahead and it was never a problem. The breakfast was very filling. There were enough choices and our family was looking forward to having breakfast every morning. The hotel is approx. 25 min walk from the Vatican and there are couple of grocery stores on your way to Vatican and back, so we could buy some food for our dinner. The staff at the hotel was very pleasant and ready to assist with any questions regarding the main attractions, food, and transportation. Please keep in mind that Tiberio is not very close to Colloseo, the Spanish steps, and the Pantheon, but the shuttle the hotel offers drops you off close enough to most of the sights. The Metro is also very close to the hotel which makes it covenient, if you decide not to use the shuttle. In general, our family liked this hotel and would come back to stay there again.

A great hotel close to the Vatican

Posted 18-Mar-2014
Pros: Its clean, bright lobby area and the sun terrace on the 6th floor (which we found by accident!) and definitely its staff
Cons: They could do away with the powdered scrambled egg and fatty bacon at breakfast and replace those with better items
I don't usually do these reviews unless the experience is exceptional and this one was. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and were really looked after by the hotel staff. Friendly and courteous throughout we could not fault this hotel. The room was comfortable and the restaurant served a decent range of good quality fare, including some very reasonably priced wine. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family for its value for money. Unfortunately it is surrounded by some fairly drab apartment blocks in a residential area which has seen better days but if you can turn a blind eye to that, you will not be disappointed once you get there. It is close to the city and next door to a bus stop and train station. All in all, a great hotel.

Lovely clean hotel

Posted 17-Mar-2014
Pros: Lovely atmosphere, clean, friendly staff.
Location: Vatican trip is a must. The tourist hop on and off bus also a must.
This hotel was a little further out than expected but not a problem and well worth the stay. The room was lovely, large and very clean, tea and coffee making facilities which were replenished daily and a fridge / mini bar. We had dinner in the hotel as we were shattered after walking around the Vatican and Rome - this City is so beautiful and we walked for hours. There is so much to see and do and so many lovely restaurants. Anyway we ate in the hotel and the meal was extremely reasonable, as was the wine, each of us chose the Risotto - very tasty and plentiful. The staff were very efficient and friendly - great service. Breakfast was included and was perfect. Fruit, cereal, cold meats, cheeses, bacon, eggs, pastries - something for everyone and a buffet so you can help yourself and go back for more. I would recommend this hotel - remember its about a 20 minute walk to the Vatican area - there is a shuttle bus into town and the Vatican for those who don't want a stroll.

Not the best experience

Posted 7-Mar-2014
Pros: staff are friendly....
Cons: rooms! heating!! we need heating in winter!!! there is no hot air from air con after 8.30pm..complained a few times but was told this is the best.
Location: residential area...
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It is close to Cipro station which is a stop away from Vatican. However, to get the station it is about 1mile....took about 20-25mins... the hotel is located in the residential area and there are few eating place/mini markets nearby. the rooms are small, no heating after 8.30pm....loud noises...can hear flushes and water filling when your neighbors use their toilets.

Tiberio close to Vatican

Posted 18-Jan-2014
Pros: The room was comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was lovely.
Location: Being only a 20 minute walk to the Vatican was great and there was a lovely restaurant nearby - casselli's.
We found this hotel clean, close to Vatican and very comfortable. The staff were efficient but not overly cheerful. Breakfast was well catered and the free shuttle was helpful. (remember to book that). The shuttle had 2 drop off points which was a kick start into the city of Rome itself, which was beyond walking distance.
