“Absoloutely wonderful!”
I read about the Ecohotel on Tripadvisor, and was confident that the hotel was good, however, it was much better than that. The staff, all italian, (not east european) were so helpful, spoke english, were all friendly, chatty, informative, and pleased to have guests staying. The room was very pleasant, modern, and kept spotlessly clean every day, with the option of fresh towels daily if preferred. Breakfast was a hearty and plentiful buffet, catering for every european taste, including a variety of fresh fruit and served at a convenient time of 07.30 to 10.00 am, half hour extension on weekends. No restaurant on site, but there are a number of excellent and inexpensive establishments within walking distance, and all rated by previous hotel users, directions are available on printed maps from reception. A free shuttle service (minibus) is available to the city centre, also the local bus service is frequent, either to the city, the metro and rail station. The only crticism I have is that the walls in the rooms must be quite thin, as you can hear the occupants in the bathroom, and the tv next door, and the traffic noise at the front of the hotel starts early in the morning, but this is typical Italy, we would certainly stay here again.
“Great Experience”
I spent 13 nights in November at this hotel. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and I highly recommended it to anyone visiting Rome. The cost to value ratio was excellent. The room was clean and well apportioned. Breakfast was ample. The staff was just first rate. Everyone I dealt with went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. The hotel is in a residential area west of city center. To some, this may be a drawback. To me, it was a chance to see a side of Rome that was different from the usual tourist hang outs. The hotel makes up for this by providing free shuttle service to the nearest Metro stop. On the day of my departure, there was a strike that affected Bus H, which I was going to use to pick up the train to the airport at Trastevere station. I had already checked out and had been waiting at the bus stop for a while when I realized something was wrong. I returned to the hotel. Emmanuella, saved the day by promptly arranging for the shuttle to drop me off at the train station.
“Very Good Value”
Nice for the money
“Great for the quiet traveler...refuge from the city”
Sparkling clean room, comfortable bed/pillows, nice bathroom. Breakfast was awesome- so many yummy choices of pastries, cereals, yogurt, eggs/meat, even chocolate! The staff was always friendly and helpful. After breakfast, we'd spend all day downtown (took the bus into town- a short, quiet trip). Arriving back at the hotel in the evening was always a treat- a nice, hot shower, quiet, restful. And the TV switched programs to English! Absolutely loved this hotel!
“The best hotel that I have ever stayed in.”
This hotel was truly amazing. Beautiful, friendly, delicious, and eco-friendly. Couldn't ask for more! Worth every penny.
“Can't wait to go back”
We were definitely impressed with the hotel and it's staff. The girl at the front desk was extremely helpful with explaining to us how and what to see in the city center. This hotel was very close to the city bus stops. The city center is about 15-20mins away by bus. We would stay here again.
“Would go back again!”
Stayed at the Eco Hotel on our trip to Rome for 5 days. This hotel is located outside the City but provides a shuttle service to and from the nearest Metro and also to the Vatican when needed. It's also very easy to get the bus to the Metro and use it to go in and out of the City which takes about 25-30mins to get in maybe a bit more if it's rush hour. We bought a Roma Pass and hopped on and off everywhere, it was great and the Bus and Metro are really, really, easy to use. The Hotel is located in quite a busy town area but is quiet in itself and backs on to some lovely woodland. Our hotel room was located with a view of this woodland and had TV Hairdryer etc and it looked like the bathroom had recently been done, it was all very clean. The rooms were serviced frequently and a breakfast was provided which was fantastic, all sorts of things to eat and sitting outside on the terrace at the back was lovely. The reception staff are so helpful and very friendly and do everything to make your stay enjoyable, even recommending local places to eat. We tried them all and had very good food for really good prices which were half you would pay for a meal in the centre of Rome. We had a fantastic holiday and it was well worth every penny, I would certainly not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going to Rome
“Astounding value -astounding staff”
First time I've written a review but felt that I had to although it's really just a reiteration of what has been said by others. Modern hotel, impecably clean, bright rooms with amenities like safe, Sky TV and minibar. Breakfast buffet has to be seen to be believed. Shuttle bus will take you to Cornelia metro (then 20 minute ride to Trevi, Spagna etc) or to St Peter's. Decent restaurants 5 minutes walk from the hotel BUT most of all, the staff - nothing was too much trouble. Would I go back? Tomorrow if I could but 2012 definitely.
“An oasis”
I chose Eco Hotel because of the reviews and the value. I was not disappointed. The hotel was a hidden gem. Although the room was small, it was comfortable as was the bed. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The location was not a problem. A free shuffle was arranged to take guests to the nearest metro station. From there it was easy to get to the center of Rome and back. I only wish there had been more information about how to get back to the hotel. It should also be explained that a return shuttle had to be requested. Other than that, I loved my stay there. It was so nice to come back to after the hectic and crowded pace of Rome. I would stay there again in a heart beat.
“Ecohotel - Rome”
Lovely hotel away from the main tourist areas of Rome - in the suburbs you might say. There wasn't alot to do in the evenings (the first night we went for a walk but didn't find much) so the rest of the week we just returned later having eaten and shopped in town or near the underground exit area. We used the bus in the mornings to get us to the area near the Vatican or to the underground. After a day or so you get a feel for your surroundings and it makes it easier. The hotel was bright and airy, felt more like a 4* hotel (imho). Very helpful receptionists. The room was nice sized (by EU standards) & had a balcony! The room was very clean and the bathroom spotless! The breakfast buffet was very extensive and kept us going until mid-afternoon. If you don't mind staying out of the center of Rome and using the bus & underground to get around this is not to be missed. You get great value for your money at this hotel. If we go back to Rome we'll be staying here again.
